Directory of Researchers, Research Projects and Publications. U.P. Visayas, Miagao, Iloilo. It has not always been easy to find out what has been done in a specific area of research and where expertise is available. This directory is a modest attempt to fill the gap by providing a listing of researchers, research projects and publications of member-agencies of the Zonal Network for Visayas. Information were provided by the researchers themselves in response to a form we circulated early in CY 2001. The listing is not complete; we know of a number of researchers in the zone who are not in the directory; our best efforts to enjoin them to return the survey form have not been successful. We listed all research projects reported by the researchers, and the fund source when available. Publications have been very broadly interpreted; the list included articles in proceedings, bulletins and newsletters. The last part is the directory of the member agencies of the network, the head of agency and the research coordinator who represents the agency in the zonal network. For every researcher, information on agency affiliation and expertise are provided. Some entries have been listed under more than one category. The Zonal Center does not have copies of the research project reports nor of the publications mentioned in this directory. The reader will need to get in touch with the author/project leader whose name can be found in the directory of researchers, and whose agency address can be located in the list of member-agencies. The directory is stored in electronic format and is available at our website, http://pcamrdvisayas.upv.edu.ph. It is hoped that the preparation of this directory will encourage researchers to network with colleagues for the enrichment of their work and avoid duplication of research efforts. It is further hoped that the directory will lead to wider utilization of research results. LEONOR M.
