There are three types of secondary school admissions which are as follows: 1. Children transferring from Year 6 to Year 7 in September 2020 (referred to as normal rounds of admission); 2. In year admissions, which are all other admissions where children move from one school to another part way through a school year; and 3. Admissions to schools with an atypical age range, such as University Technical College. The booklet provides important information on the processes associated with admissions to schools and gives details of how places are allocated (normal rounds) which should help you make an informed decision about your preferences. Please take the time to read the booklet carefully before completing an application, even if you have already decided which schools you prefer. The law gives parents/carers the right to express a preference for which school you wish your child to attend. It is very important that you understand that this is not the same as being able to choose a school. Our Sporting Diary 2017 – 2018 September Happy Lunchtimes On Monday 11th September saw the launch of Happy Lunchtimes. Activities are specifically designed to improve and encourage personal, social and emotional development amongst the children. We are committed to ensuring that lunchtimes are positive, enjoyable and a fun filled part of the day. Exciting and engaging activities are planned each day with the children in mind; ensuring that something is planned to suit and involve every individual. Some of these thrilling activities include: Chalking Dancing and disco moves to music Fitness activities (mountain climbers, squats, burpees and star jumps) Target practice Construction activity (straws and blocks) Team and individual skipping games Creating and racing paper aeroplanes Widgets Clubs start On Monday 18th September clubs started. The children were asked the types of sports and activities they would like to be on offer this year. Taking them on board, we devised the first half term’s clubs letter. This went out live for parents to book on via parent mail. Active Cheshire Assembly On Wednesday 20th September, Active Cheshire came in to re-launch the 100 mile challenge. Children were thrilled at this challenge and very excited to receive their pedometers. All children in KS2 now have their pedometers and should be tallying how many miles they have done so far. This is a new initiative to encourage children to become more active before, during and after school. This could be anything from taking the dog for a walk to walking to school; it could be walking to the shop instead of going in the car or it could be just playing on the park with friends. -

WARRINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL FAMILIES AND WELLBEING DIRECTORATE ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS AND NURSERY CLASSES FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2017-2018 1. Age of Admission Primary Schools 1.1 Admission authorities must provide for the admission of all children from the September following their fourth birthday. Deferred Entry, Part-Time Attendance and Summer Born Children 1.2 Children reaching the age of five between 1 September and 31 August may be admitted full time on the first day of the autumn term before their fifth birthday. To help children adjust, schools may phase the intake over the first few weeks of term with reception children attending on a part-time basis. Arrangements are determined at school level but part-time attendance does not usually last longer than the first four weeks of term. 1.3 Flexibility exists for parents/carers who feel their child is not ready to start school in the September following their fourth birthday. Parents/carers can request that the date their child is admitted to school is deferred until later in that academic year or until the term in which the child reaches compulsory school age. Parents/carers can also request that their child takes up the place part-time until the child reaches compulsory school age. 1.4 Parents/carers may wish to explore the possibility of their summer born child starting school in the September following their fifth birthday ie so their child is educated outside of their normal age group. 1.5 If a parent/carer chooses to explore this option, they should discuss it with the schools they are interested in and the local authority as soon as possible. -

Cheshire Pension Fund | Hymans Robertson LLP Rates and Adjustments Certificate In accordance with regulation 62(4) of the Regulations we have made an assessment of the contributions that should be paid into the Fund by participating employers for the period 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2023 in order to maintain the solvency of the Fund. The method and assumptions used to calculate the contributions set out in the Rates and Adjustments certificate are detailed in the Funding Strategy Statement dated 13 March 2020. and in Appendix 2 of our report on the actuarial valuation dated 30 March 2020. These assumptions underpin our estimate of the number of members who will become entitled to a payment of pensions under the provisions of the LGPS and the amount of liabilities arising in respect of such members. This is an updated version of the Rates and Adjustments certificate with updated rates for Burtonwood Community Primary School (employer code 225), Cheshire Community Action (12), David Lewis Centre (32) and Plus Dane (326). The table below summarises the whole fund Primary and Secondary Contribution rates for the period 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2023 (ignoring prepayments). The Primary rate is the payroll weighted average of the underlying individual employer primary rates and the Secondary rate is the total of the underlying individual employer secondary rates, calculated in accordance with the Regulations and CIPFA guidance.
