Filling much of the promontory where the Danube and Sava Rivers converge, the green sprawl was settled millenniums ago by the Celts and bears traces of many successive peoples and empires. Tour of the grounds will include a visit to the Roman well, 18th-century Austrian clock tower, Ottoman mausoleum, 19th-century Slavic half-timbered mansion and a military museum surrounded by old tanks and artillery. The tour will also include a surprise guest and a small photoshoot with the Statue of the Victor. Time: 09:00 – 10:30 City Tour A bus tour for sightseeing will start from Kalemegdan where we will board and set on a tour visiting some of the most important landmarks that Belgrade has to offer. In addition, the tour will thoroughly cover various parts of the city’s history together with an expert tour guide’s narrative. The tour will last around an hour, ending at Ada Ciganlija. Time: 11:00 – 12:00 Lunch on the Beach Ada Ciganlija is a river island that has artificially been turned into a peninsula most notable for its beaches and recreational facilities which earned it a nickname “Belgrade’s Sea”. Lunch will include a selection of Balkan specialties, including slowly pot-roasted meat and seafood specialties and an open bar with a wide selection of drinks. Time: 12:00 – 14:00 Saint Sava Temple Following a brief bus ride (ca 25 min) we will arrive at one of the most important historic sites in Belgrade, the Saint Sava Temple. Standing at 82 meters, including the cross on the top of the dome, it is the largest Orthodox temple in the Balkans, built in the Serbo-Byzantine style. The tour will include a visit to the temple’s crypt, and a walk on the surrounding grounds. Following the dinner, entertainment will be provided by a live band that should, together with an open bar, get everyone ready for the prime night of clubbing in the city. In addition to an excellent open club on the fortress, we recommend a tour of the gentrified Savamala district under the Brankov Bridge, home to numerous cultural centers that turn into clubs at night and a thriving bar scene. For those interested in a more traditional experience, we recommend a visit to the famous Skadarlija district, a bohemian quarter home to a number of Kafanas where wine and sweet brandy flow all night to the tune of the mandolin. • 7Th ROWHOUSE on SENJAK in BELGRADE
th 7 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE Contemporary achievements in civil engineering 23-24. April 2019. Subotica, SERBIA ROWHOUSE ON SENJAK IN BELGRADE: RECONSTRUCTION CASE STUDY Danilo S. Furundžić 1 Božidar S. Furundžić 2 UDK: 69.059.25 DOI: 10.14415/konferencijaGFS2019.084 Summary: This paper presents a case study of reconstruction and interior design of the rowhouse located in Temišvarska Street No. 27a, оn Senjak in Belgrade. The rowhouse (with basement, ground floor, first floor and attic) is reconstructed and new interior space (190 m2) is created. Ground floor is one-room space, children's room is on the first floor, and parents’ bedroom is in the attic. The reconstructed interior represents functional unit, which satisfies all family needs. Keywords: rowhouse, reconstruction, interior, case study, Belgrade 1. INTRODUCTION Each house project is different. An architect has to create appropriate environment that matches site and functions. Therefore, the architect has to study all aspects, evaluates pro et contra arguments and generate functional and agreeable project. In countries of Eastern Europe, a political change has also caused urban changes. Interior space reconstruction has become available to wealthier owners. Different rowhouse types are described in foreign books, journals, and magazines. In Belgrade there are districts with row houses (e.g. Dedinje, Senjak, Šumice, Cerak, Višnjicka banja, Bežanijska kosa). Examples of rowhouse interior reconstruction in Belgrade, however, are rare in domestic literature and that gave a stimulus to following writing. This paper presents the case study of reconstruction and interior design of the rowhouse in Temišvarska Street No. 27a. The solution of the client’s demands is, after several attempts, created on basis of a study of rowhouse function, volume, shape, and cost.
