In addition, the school is a member of NAIS, GISA, NACAC, the College Board as follows: 37 AP Scholars, 11 National AP Scholars SACAC, CEEB, and ACCIS. (Highest Award), 43 AP Scholars with Distinction, and 17 AP Scholars with Honors. In 2015-2016, 273 students sat for 548 exams with 88% School Calendar scoring 3 or higher. The school operates on a two-semester system. Upper School Curriculum students sit for comprehensive exams at the end of each term. The school day is divided into six 50-minute class periods. Woodward Academy maintains a curriculum that is college prepara- tory. The vast majority of Upper School courses utilize college-level textbooks, including all English courses. The curriculum in the Upper National Merit Scholarship Program School includes Advanced Placement (AP), Honors College Prep (HP), For the Class of 2017, which consists of 276 students, NMSQT Enriched College Prep (EP), and College Prep (CP). The College Prep recognized nine students as National Merit Semifinalists, and track covers all concepts necessary to succeed at the college level. 22 as Commended. All students must enroll in at least five courses daily, four of which must be from the core disciplines of mathematics, science, English, social studies, world languages, or computer science. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS (21.5 UNITS) Independent Scientific Research (ISR) is an honors science course designed to provide the upper level science student an opportunity English 4 Units to perform authentic, independent scientific research under the guidance of faculty research advisors.
