  • This Special One Day Dance Officer Curriculum Can Be Added to Your Existing Private Camp for Your Team
This special One Day Dance Officer Curriculum can be added to your existing private camp for your team. The instructor will offer a short “Officer Camp Dance” then have at least 4-5 different leadership and technique workshops that will motivate your officers to be great leaders. The director will receive a special document CD with an officer handbook that is over 75 pages of instructional material that will offer support to your officers throughout the year, as well as a music CD with over 20 pieces of music, including the music for the Officer Camp Dance. Here are a few of the officer workshops that you can choose from: “Teaching Basic Dance Technique” “Know Your Role as a Leader” “Teaching & Polishing Routines” “Partnering Techniques for Modern” “Developing Lyrical Technique” “Team Motivation and Leadership Styles” “Leaps and Turns” “Tricks and Stunts” “Kick and Stretching Technique” “Creative Choreography” “Discipline is Something You Do For Someone” “Problem Solving” Although we highly recommend that the officers attend a full three day curriculum to learn routines and experience the workshops above as well as observing other teams at camp, it is important that the officers have a good basis for starting off the school year armed with valuable information that will inspire them to be the role models and leaders that will guide your team to a successful season. Here is a suggested schedule for the additional One Day Officer Camp to add to your team private camp: 8:30-9:00am Stretching and Kick Techniques (Workshop #1) 9:00-10:30am Learn Officer Camp Dance 10:45-11:30am Workshop #2 (choose from list) 11:30-12:15pm Workshop #3 (choose from list) 12:15-1:00pm Lunch on your own 1:00-2:00pm Workshop #4 (choose from list) 2:15-3:15pm Workshop #5 (choose from list) 3:30-4:30pm Workshop #6 (choose from list) Directors can design a schedule based on your officer group’s needs.

  • Finding Our Voices, Singing Our Truths: Examining How Quality of Life Domains Manifested in a Singing Group for Autistic Adults
RESEARCH | PEER REVIEWED Finding Our Voices, Singing Our Truths: Examining How Quality of Life Domains Manifested in a Singing Group for Autistic Adults Laurel Young 1 * 1 Concordia University, Montréal, Canada *[email protected] Received: 14 September 2018 Accepted: 17 February 2020 Published: 1 July 2020 Editor: Avi Gilboa Reviewers: Chava Weiss, Susanna Cohen Abstract A growing body of literature indicates that participation in singing groups has a range of health and wellbeing benefitsor f the general adult population and for various adult cohorts with specific challenges/needs. However, no research had been con- ducted on potential benefits ofoup gr singing for Autistic adults. Furthermore, the neurodiversity movement rejects a biomedical approach to autism and champions the need for supports that will empower individuals on the autism spectrum to par- ticipate in society on their own terms. This aligns well with community music therapy (CoMT) philosophy which maintains that all persons have a right to access and par- ticipate in music experiences that promote personal health and wellbeing as well as serve as an expression of individuality, culture, and community. Therefore, the pre- sent research investigated how quality of life (QoL) variables (considered as com- ponents/determinants of health and wellbeing) manifested for eight Autistic adults who participated in 12 group singing sessions. A mixed methods concurrent transfor- mative design was used with priority given to qualitative data. Results illustrate how subdomains contained within overarching QoL domains of Being, Belonging, and Be- coming were realized by the group participants. Limitations of the study as well as implications for practice and research are presented.

Say it with us! Great. Now, this Activity Book has been really fun to make, and we learned a lot along the way. Like, for instance: the thing we found out about the word TTGtMYOPN is that after we encoded it with a proprietary steganophographic encoder ring, hand-delivered the encoded message to Chicago by non-Amtrak train in the dark of night, and secretly coerced our our old college roommate, Pete (who really needs to fgure out what he’s doing with his life), into decoding it without even realizing he’d received it, and then absentmindedly speaking the sounds aloud to himself—that the word, TTGtMYOPN, sounded, to Pete’s newish-but-already- serious girlfriend, Hannah, like the Esperanto word for fne-leather-shoe-of- excellent-craftsmanship-but-not-really-my-style. Now, Pete’s girlfriend, Hannah, had spent some time WWOOFing in the ancestral home of Esperanto before settling down in Chicago to work as a nanny while interning at a public radio station—and, after consulting her blog entries from her farmer days, various dictionaries, and no less than three Ofcial Chicago City Linguists, found out that TTGtMYOPN literally is that word in Esperanto.

The characters, who have trained since as early as age twelve and as late as fourteen – with heavy combat training for up to a year and as little as six months, are well prepared by the Tokien system. Demonstrating their Link-worthy will be a challenge that none of them can fully imagine, as this year is the unveiling of a Tokien- engineered tech development that will undoubtedly change the course humanity rides in the closing of the 22nd century.
