This map is part of a FLOOR MOSAIC in the CHURCH OF ST. GEORGE in Madaba, Jordan and it is the world’s OLDEST MAP of the HOLY LAND. This map shows locations like the Red Sea, the Jordan River, Mt. Nebo, and JERICHO, which is represented by some buildings surrounded by PALM TREES. Can you spot Jericho near the middle of the map? Above one of Jericho’s palm trees is a little CHURCH BUILDING with 12 LIGHT-COLORED STONES. Investigate JOSHUA 4 for clues about what these 12 stones mean.
