TIME LOCATION 8:30 a.m. English Language Program (ELP) English Proficiency Test *Prior registration with English Language Program required *If you are an exchange student and your school is on the list below, you are NOT required to do the ELP testing. 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Tuberculosis (TB) testing Lafene Health Students will be assigned a specific testing time during Center orientation registration on August 17th. You will be responsible for making sure you have your TB test completed during your specified time. Students must bring $90 for the test. There will be many things that may be different here than in your home country: the food, the weather, the customs and the academic environment. As you adjust to these differences, you may experience the different stages of culture shock. In this workshop, we will learn about culture shock, and the FREE resources available to help you overcome it. Also hear the experiences of some of your K- State peers about what they did to make a smooth adjustment to campus and Manhattan.

It will focus on transitioning to U.S. graduate-level writing and frustrations frequently encountered by ELL and international students. We will discuss the impact culture has on writing norms, writing expectations, and much more.
