Esta edição da GTP, contempla um conjunto de artigos com destaque para as interfaces entre arquitetura, urbanismo, engenharia e design, os procedimentos das Revisões Sistemáticas de Literatura, as simulações e mo- delagens computacionais e os ensaios tecnológicos, com diversos desdobra- mentos atuais e futuros possíveis em termos de pesquisa e inovação. Esta cobertura de temas de largo espectro é próprio das linhas de pes- quisa abrangidas pela Revista e evidenciam, cada vez, mais a relevância das temáticas interdisciplinares. O artigo, “Alta Tecnologia e Reúso de materiais descartados: desenvolvi- mento de um painel decorativo para a melhoria do desempenho térmico em edificações”, deM.Y.Yabuki, C. Otoni, M.G. C. Celani, é destacada a expressiva geração de resíduos sólidos que são devolvidos a natureza, sem tratamento ou reutilização. E nesta mesma direção, destaca também a importância das cooperativas de reciclagem para a seleção de materiais reciclados e sua rein- serção no ciclo produtivo da construção civil. Para tanto, os autores adotam as premissas do Design Science Research, com características interdiscipli- nares para a criação de um artefato produzido com materiais descartados, na forma de um componente arquitetônico e ornamental de acabamento. Neste experimento, adotou-se o polietireno para o desenvolvimento de pla- cas de acabamento especificadas para forros. Na modulação do painel foram utilizados modelos paramétricos digitais mediante o uso de impressora 3D. Como resultado, o plástico mostrou-se útil para a reciclagem e o artefato decorrente com potencial para redução de consumo energético associados a incrementos de conforto térmico, atributos esses que poderão agregar valor na sua fabricação. Em sequência, o artigo “Operacionalização da aplicação de parâmetros de projeto através do Enriquecimento Semântico de Modelagem de Infor- mação de Construção no estágio de concepção social”, de G.T.N. Brígitte, R. C. Ruschel destacam a importância da utilização do BIM na concepção de pro- jetos através do Enriquecimento Semântico para o caso da Habitação Social. Para tanto, as autoras partem da linguagem de padrões definidas há décadas atrás por Alexander et al. (1977) e desenvolvem algoritmos de parâmetros de projeto por meio de programação visual em BIM. São adotados 74 parâ- metros de projeto (baseados em Barros, 2008) nas escalas da urbanidade e da habitabilidade. Para a chamada algoritmização de cada um desses parâ- metros, são identificadas as variáveis como atributos para se atingir a mode- lagem BIM e explicadas as rotinas de automação. As autoras constataram a relevância do Enriquecimento Semântico de BIM para a avaliação de projeto em suas etapas iniciais (concepção), particularmente no caso do programa de necessidades das Habitações Sociais, otimizando, desta feita, as tomadas de decisão nas etapas preliminares de projeto. O terceiro artigo desta edição, “Tecnologias assistivas destinadas a orien- tação espacial, identificação de obstáculos e guiamento de pessoas com de- ficiência visual”, de B. M. Vasconcelos, B. de S. Teti, A. de M. A. Figueira e L.M. das S. Gonçalves, tem como objetivo central a Revisão Sistemática da Literatura a partir de procedimentos metodológicos do PRISMA, utilizando, com muita acuracidade, palavras-chave e descritores booleanos para a se- leção de artigos nacionais e internacionais , especialmente a partir de 2009 e explora o uso de tecnologias assistivas com vistas a ambientes externos e internos aos edifícios. O estudo abrange também tecnologias apoiadas em dispositivos como smart phones, tablets e computadores. A pesquisa aponta, ao final o potencial das tecnologias assistivas para a redução, de modo segu- ro, de percursos realizados por pessoas com deficiência visual, no caso de ambientes externos. Porém enfatiza que as limitações impostas pelo sinal de GPS e de GIS em ambientes internos, impede, até o momento, a integração plena dessas tecnologias assistivas, reduzindo, deste modo, a sua eficácia. 4 Gestão e Tecnologia de Projetos O trabalho, “Integrando simulações de iluminação natural no processo de projeto: análises comparativas entre duas plataformas computacionais, EDITORIAL de M. S. Garcia, R.V.G. de Souza, M.L.M. de Freitas e A.C. de O. Veloso, parte de consistente Revisão Sistemática da Literatura sobre plataformas compu- tacionais (simulações) existentes que visam integrar a iluminação natural com o projeto, especialmente com o uso do BIM. Nesta perspectiva, foram comparadas as plataformas computacionais Insight 360 e DIVA, tendo Belo Horizonte como estudo de caso. Na comparação foram adotados critérios de modelagem como geometria, localização, propriedades óticas dos materiais e outros. O artigo conclui pela importância da predição da iluminação natu- ral para as áreas de conforto e de eficiência energética, buscando sempre a integração com o BIM. Por outro lado, expõe as vantagens e as desvantagens das duas plataformas no caso do processo de projeto de arquitetura e a ne- cessidade de realização de medições in situ, para validação dos resultados apresentados. O artigo, “Lógica algorítmica-paramétrica e urbanismo: uma revisão teó- rica e de modelos computacionais para projetos urbanos”, F. Lima, F.R.Costa e A. Rosa exploram, a partir de uma ampla revisão bibliográfica, as poten- cialidades e as limitações sobre o uso de modelos computacionais para a definição de cenários relativos a projetos urbanos. Para tanto, apresentam diversas ferramentas e finalizam com uma análise comparativa entre mode- los e concluem pela necessidade de ampliação dos estudos científicos sobre essas modelagens com vistas a apoiar as decisões dos planejadores urbanos. O sétimo artigo desta edição, “Como você mora: sistema interativo de avaliação pós-ocupação em meios digitais” de autoria de S. B. Villa, D. C. Bruno, A. L. Trevisan e C. R. Leão utilizam a avaliação pós-ocupação para discutir e aprimorar a qualidade da moradia. O trabalho faz parte de

Most of the existing technical solutions devoted to empowering the visually impaired people are in the areas of navigation (obstacle avoidance), access to printed information and object recognition. Less effort has been dedicated so far in developing solu- tions to support social interactions. In this paper, we introduce a Social-Aware Assistant (SAA) that provides visually impaired people with cues to enhance their face-to-face conversations. The system consists of a perceptive component (represented by smartglasses with an embedded video camera) and a feedback component (represented by a haptic belt). When the vision system detects a head nodding, the belt vibrates, thus suggesting the user to replicate (mirror) the gesture. In our experiments, sighted persons interacted with blind people wearing the SAA. We instructed the former to mirror the noddings according to the vibratory signal, while the latter interacted naturally. After the face-to- face conversation, the participants had an interview to express their experience regarding the use of this new technological assistant. Training Handbook March/April 2016 By Sandra Manley This handbook has been prepared to accompany training delivered on behalf of Welsh Government during March and April 2016 in Aberystwyth, Cardiff, Llandudno and Swansea. It also provides a resource for anyone seeking to understand more about inclusive design and its application. It is important to recognise that the principles of inclusive design and the legislation and regulations relevant to inclusive design are evolving over time. This evolution occurs as society recognises the importance of designing inclusively and moves forward to make improvements. Always check the latest legislation, building regulations and most importantly recent ideas about the philosophy of inclusive design. Remember also that inclusive design needs good, imaginative designers and their designs should result in buildings and spaces that are not only inclusive, but also beautiful. The training and this document have been developed and compiled by Sandra Manley, Visiting Research Fellow, University of the West of England, Bristol. The training was organised and promoted by Design Commission for Wales, RSAW, CEW and RTPI Cymru. Sandra Manley was a Principal Lecturer at the University of the West of England in Bristol for over 35 years where she taught urban designers, planners and architects and acted as Associate Head of the Department of Planning and Architecture. She also ran the department’s Short Course and Conference unit and taught many courses for built environment professionals herself. In childhood she noted how a disabled family member was discriminated against and excluded from mainstream society and this undoubtedly influenced the development of her longstanding concerns about inequality of opportunity for all minority groups and for disabled people in particular.

One such barrier is that they cannot find their way around easily, especially when they visit the grocery store for the first time and have not yet built a cognitive map in their memory. They may also experience delays in finding the right product or waiting for assistance from store employees, thus leading them to rely on family, friends, relatives, or volunteers to help them with their shopping. Problems start when these people are not available, in which case the individual is forced to cancel their visit to the grocery store and reschedule the trip. Grocery stores include many different zones and services, the aisles area being one of the main barriers to access for people with different disabilities.
