Minutes of the Meeting of the Town Council held in the Main Hall, Fazeley Town Hall on Monday, 9th December 2019 at 7.30pm

Also Present: PCSO Margaret Griffiths R Young, Clerk to the Council

Apologies: D Dwyer, O Shepherd, J Sadler and B Gwilt

Prior to the start of the meeting, PCSO Margaret Griffiths discussed Policing Issues with Councillors and the Town Mayor, B Hoult, distributed grants to local organisations.

110) Minutes

It was proposed (A Farrell), seconded (S Bree) and agreed that the Minutes (93-103) of the Town Council Meeting held on the 11th November 2019 be approved as a true and correct record.

➢ The Town Mayor, B Hoult reported that with M Hoult they had attended the Sir Hospital Christmas Fayre.

114) Clerk’s Report

a) Bollards Outside Jet Garage

➢ Councillor J Atkins commented the Bollards installed are close to the road leaving sufficient space for vehicles to park on the path.

➢ The Clerk to request a site meeting with Tim Heminsley.

b) Town Hall – Christmas Lights

➢ The Clerk reported additional display lights had been purchased.

c) Mill House Opposite Town Hall

➢ The Clerk reported no progress had been made with District Council concerning the condition of the Mill House.

d) Speedwatch

➢ This matter was ongoing.

e) Support

➢ The Clerk reported he had arranged a follow-up meeting with Support Staffordshire regarding funding for a replacement floor in the Town Hall.

f) Town Hall – Car Park Lining

➢ SCC Lining team had offered to renew the lining on the Town Hall Car Park quoting cost per foot. On inspection there did not appear to be a great improvement. The Clerk to query.

g) Town Hall – General Repairs

➢ New toilet seat in Ladies Toilet. ➢ Fix down floor blocks.

h) Mile Oak Recreation Ground – Car Park

➢ The Clerk reported that at present plastic drug envelopes were being found on or around the Car Park. Details had been passed to PCSO M Griffiths.

116) Planning

a) Planning Application Approved

i) 19/01468/FUH 419 , Mile Oak Single storey rear extension to form kitchen and lounge. Approval of Householder Planning Permission

b) Planning Application Received

ii) 19/01552/FUH 249 Lichfield Street, Fazeley Retention of two storey side and single storey rear extensions to form car port, garage/workshop, kitchen and bedroom with en-suite. (Re-submission of application 18/00813/FUL).

c) Chapel Opposite Town Hall

The Clerk reported that SCC Highways had no objected to the entrance to the site and at present it appeared the application to convert the Chapel into Flats would be approved by Council. The Town Council’s objections are based on the safety of the access to the site for vehicle entering or leaving Lichfield Street.

d) Local Plan

➢ Reviewed Local Plan Exhibition in the Town Hall which was well attended.

➢ A Farrell commented that no decision had been made by Lichfield District Council regarding the building 800 houses on the Sutton Road, Mile Oak.

➢ J Atkins raised questions regarding the infrastructure in the Parish and general area.

Minutes - 09.12.19 Page 3 ➢ It was proposed (A Farrell), seconded (M Hoult) and agreed a letter should be sent to Lichfield District Council objecting to the building 800 houses and the lack of infrastructure.

Resolved: A letter of objection to the Local Plan inclusion of 800 homes to be built off the Sutton Road, Mile Oak.

➢ A Farrell agreed to draft an appropriate letter to be sent to Lichfield District Council.

e) Dunstall Lane

The Town Mayor, B Hoult, reported that with the Town Clerk he had reviewed the first section of Dunstall Lane which is in the Parish. The Clerk to contact Gary Brownridge at LDC regarding the provision of a Litter Bin.

➢ It was proposed (J Atkins), seconded (N Claymore) and agreed that the Town Council will consider the Crossing Attendant Funding on an annual basis.
