2020 Census Self-Response Rates - NCAI Region Profile Western Region – 9/16/2020 2020 Census self-response rates are the percent of all households that have completed the 2020 Census form as of the date indicated. The 2020 Census self-response rates in this profile are downloaded from the U.S. Census Bureau each day for the tribal lands or geographies located in this National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) Region and are current as of the date of this report. While the goal is to achieve a 100 percent count, these profiles illustrate where the overall NCAI region and the tribal lands within the NCAI region are in terms of 2020 Census self-response rates compared to the 2010 Census final self-response rate and the current US national self-response date. Figure 1 shows 2020 Census self-response rates for tribal lands in the NCAI Western Region compared to the 2020 Census U.S. national response rate since July 1, 2020. Figure 1: NCAI Western Region Self-Response Rates 100 September 16, 2020 90 80 National 2020 Self- Western 2010 Response Rate 70 Response Rate 60 50 40 Percent Response Percent 30 Western Region 20 2020 Self-Response Rate 10 0 Date While the 2020 Census self-response rates are increasing for the NCAI Western Region, the latest result (36.1 percent) is a 3.1 percent increase since last week but still about 30 percent lower than the 2020 national response rate. To reach a 100 percent count of the NCAI Western Region, the response rate would have to increase by an average of 32 percent a week over the two weeks from 9/16/2020 to the end of the 2020 Census enumeration on September 30, 2020. 1 Table 1 displays the 2020 Census self-response rates for the tribal lands reported by the U.S. Census Bureau in the NCAI Western Region as of September 16, 2020 from lowest to the highest response rates.
