The Serbian Association of sport fishing invites your national team to the 20 th CARPFISHING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, which will be held in Serbia, from October 1st 2018 to October 7th 2018. The Championship will be held on the ADA CIGANLIJA - Sava Lake, where there are ideal conditions for this kind of sports competitions. We are looking forward to your visit and participation in this great contest. We will try, as organizers, to preserve Belgrad and Serbia in your beautiful and lasting memories.

Introduction

The Serbian association of sport fishing will organize the 20 th CARPFISHING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP on the ADA CIGANLIJA - Sava lake in Belgrade.

BELGRADE

Belgrade is situated at the place where the Sava joins the Danube. Belgrade is one of the oldest cities in Europe and, beside Athens, the greatest urban ensemble of the Balkan Peninsula. The oldest archaeological artefacts from Belgrade area date back to the fifth millenium B.C.. The members of a Celtic tribe founded Singidunum in the III century B.C., while the first record of the name Belgrade dates back to 878 A.D. During its long and tumultuous history, Belgrade has been conquered by 40 armies, and 38 times it has been raised up from the ashes.

Belgrade is the capital of Serbia, having around 1.6 million residents. In the field of traffic and transport, it is a city of the highest importance as a road and railway center, as a port for river and air traffic, and as a telecommunication center. It spreads over 3.6% of the territory of Serbia, and 15.8% of Serbian population lives in this city. Also, 31.2% of all employed workers in Serbia work in Belgrade.

Important economic and agricultural capacities are developed in Belgrade, especially metallurgy, metalworking industry and electronic industry, then commerce and banking. The free trade zone is located in the wider area of Belgrade, Smederevo and Pančevo, on the banks of the Danube river, covering 2,000 sqm of business space. Also, 30% of the national product of Serbia is made in Belgrade. It has the greatest concentration of institutions of national importance in the field of science and art. There is the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, established in 1886 as the Serbian Royal Academy: the National Library of Serbia, established in 1832; the National Museum, established in 1841 and the National Theatre, established in 1869.

The city is also the seat of the Belgrade University, founded in 1808 as the Great School, and the seat of the University of Art.Belgrade has the status of a separate teritorial unit in Serbia, having its own autonomous city government. Its territory is divided into 17 municipalities, having their own local governmental bodies.

LOCATION It is located 6 km from the centre of Belgrade. The approach is possible by all means of transportation (car, bus, bicycle, boat) and on foot. It is situated 15 km from airport “Nikola Tesla”, 5 km from the main bus stop and railroad. Hotels “Hyatt” and “Intercontinental” are located 4 km from the lake as well as 1 km from high class hotel.

HYSTORY In 1967 the branch of the river Sava was dammed into three places having formed two lakes: Taloznik, drinking water intake, and Sava Lake, as well as peninsula Ada Ciganlija. Sava Lake is 4.2 km long, 9 km in volume with average width of 250 m and average depth of approximately 5 m. There are some spots of

The lake only covers 64 hectare in the area. The quality of water is high II class, and it is transparent.

World Carp Championship in 2007 was held on this competition venue. At that time, the lake was fish restocked with 12 tons of carp by the organizer. This was one of the best-organized championships in carp fishing.

ADA CIGANLIJA - SAVA LAKE - COMPETITION VENUE

VENUE The whole lake is surround by pebbled path of 10 - 20 m in width, and every 30 m there is street illumination, while, every 200 m there is drinking water, eco toilets and ambulances. Along the whole lake, there are 37 cafes.

TRAINING Free Fishing will be forbidden on the lake from April 1st until the Carp Fishing World Championship. Training will be allowed only for national teams, which must register to the organizer. Without registration by organizer, fishing will not be allowed because the number of training places is limited. In addition, in the period from 13 to 16 September, OPEN SAVA Lake - cup will be organized on the lake, which is a real training for all the teams that apply. Registration

The Organizing Committee shall receive the registration form completely filled in together with the payment of the registration fee via bank wire transfer by the deadline of July 30th 2018.

Entry Fee:

In compliance with F.i.p.s.-ed rules PARTICIPATION FEE 1450 € + TAXE Fips-ed 150 € = 1600 €

The registration fee includes, in addition to the tickets for the gala Extra Final Banquet 60 € dinners (11) and the fishing permits (8), insurance and any gift that the organization may distribute.

The extra banquets can be bought at the secretary of the championships according to the available places.
