spackmanentertainmentgroup NEWS RELEASE SPACKMAN ENTERTAINMENT GROUP’S LIFE RISKING ROMANCE COMPLETES FILMING LIFE RISKING ROMANCE, starring Ha Ji-won, Chun Jung-myung, and Taiwanese actor Chen Bolin, has completed filming Expected to be released in theatres in the first half of 2016 Singapore, 10 December 2015 – Spackman Entertainment Group Limited (“Spackman Entertainment Group” or the “Company” and together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”), announced today that its movie LIFE RISKING ROMANCE has completed filming on 5 December 2015. The film is expected to be released in theatres in the first half of 2016. The film is presented and co-produced by its 51%-owned subsidiary Novus Mediacorp Co., Ltd. (“Novus Mediacorp”), and co-presented and distributed by its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary Opus Pictures Limited Liability Company. LIFE RISKING ROMANCE follows the story of Jane, a mystery novel writer (Ha Ji-won), her best friend Rokhwan (Chun Jung-myung), who is a police officer, and a mysterious, but charming neighbour named Jason (Chen Bolin). The three get intertwined in a complicated relationship amidst investigations into the serial murders happening in town. The romance thriller stars one of Korea’s top actresses Ha Ji-won, who is best known for her lead roles in television dramas, EMPRESS KI (2013/14), SECRET GARDEN (2010), and HWANG JINI (2006). Ha has also starred in several movies including the 2009 box office hit HAUNDAE, and has won numerous acting and popularity awards throughout her career. Also starring in the film is Korean actor Chun Jung-myung who is best known for his lead roles in the 2015 drama series HEART TO HEART and RESET (2014). -

The echo of ancient times is created with a long and rumbling peal of thunder. The fast “Whimori” rhythm builds gradually to make our hearts throb at the end. The performers display their talents on the drum in changing rhythm, which alternates fast and slow in turn. During the performance, the drummers change costumes several times and move their drums around the stage, creating a more dramatic impact for the audience. Their skills and abilities in playing the huge drum are breathtaking. Boo-Chae-Choom (Fan Dance) This performance originates from the folding fan used in a shaman ritual. The dancers are dressed in a Korean court outfit, called Dangui, wear Hwagan, the flower crown, and hold feathered fans beautifully decorated with flower drawings in both hands. They fold, unfold and turn their fans to create waves, flowers and other forms in a fantastic display. HIST 1501 Social Biography Kayley Edgin Hwang Jini: An Examination of Life as a Joseon Kisaeng Hwang Jini was a famous Joseon Dynasty kisaeng, likely to have been born around 1506 in the scenic city of Kaesong, now in modern-day North Korea. She was known also by her adopted kisaeng name of Myeongwol, meaning “bright moon”. Details of her birth are inconclusive at best, but it is generally agreed that she was born the illegitimate daughter of a yangban, who, having been seduced by her mother’s beauty and charm, had consented to relations1. Growing up, she was noted for her exceptional beauty and musical prowess, and a story stands that a young man of the village, so distressed by his unrequited love for her, had died of heartbreak. This story is instrumental in the development of a picture of young Jini, because during the young man’s funeral procession, she laid her blouse on the casket as a sign of her regret and sorrow2. This sensitivity to life and the needs of others, combined with her natural beauty and talent, made her an appropriate candidate to become a kisaeng. A kisaeng is an officially sanctioned female entertainer, trained in music, dancing, and poetry composition. -

Bender, Advisor Dr. Kirk Denton Dr. Chan Park-Miller Dr. Dorothy Noyes Copyright by Peace Bakwon Lee 2011 ABSTRACT The Chaoxianzu (Joseonjok or Chosonjok in Korean) are an ethnic minority group associated with the Yanbian Chaoxianzu Autonomous Prefecture in northeast China. As a part of Korea’s historically displaced people -- the Korean diaspora – the Chaoxianzu have evolved an identity that is tagged with the term “contested,” as their historical narratives, the history of their autonomous prefecture and other areas in northeast China, and their identity as “Koreans” all feature contested complexities, controversies and multiplicities. This dissertation explores the construction of the Chaoxianzu’s contested ethnic identity, as reflected primarily in Chaoxianzu oral traditions, and in part through early 20th century Manchuria Chaoxian writers and contemporary Chaoxianzu return migration literature. This dissertation examines the construction of Chaoxianzu identity through personal narratives, songs, and stories collected during fieldwork conducted from 2000 to 2004. This collected material has been transcribed and translated into English, and is presented as examples of constructed Chaoxianzu identity as both ethno-culturally Korean and ethno-nationally Chinese. In Chapter 1, the contested historical and territorial narratives of Chaoxianzu and the early Chaoxian migrants in Manchuria are discussed to provide a contextual background for understanding the formation of the Chaoxianzu Korean ethnic minority group in China.
