This week we The Boston Foodie had a sneak preview of Besito Mexican and, believe us, the food is spot on, maybe the best Mexican we've had Boston, Mass, United States since we were in, well, Mexico. We started off the night with the Sangria de Besito, a blend of white wine, The creativity,drive and people Cointreau, peach liquor, fresh fruit and juices. Fruity, cold and refreshing without being overly sweet, it was involved in all aspects of food. the best light Sangria we've ever had. View my complete profile FOLLOWERS It wasn't long before a basket of chips arrived (still warm) with the house salsa, again a nice traditional blend and very much just like all the corn chips and salsas we tasted south of the border. The Guacamole en Molcajete is made in fresh batches tableside and not to be missed. Not a pureed, old green mess as some places serve. This was as fresh as possible, chunky and flavorful with the tomato chunks included and a brilliant green guacamole. Just the Sangria and this could be a light meal alone and totally satisfying. Tosquitos de Camarones: Crispy chrimp, shredded organic romaine lettuce, pico de gallo, chipotle cream salsa, cilantro and queso fresco. The crunchy shrimp with the fresh greens and creamy sauce were enough to get our gastric juices flowing. Ceviche del Dia: Fresh ceviche with plantains. Beautiful to look at and flavorful. Sopa de Tortilla: Tortilla soup, avocado, pulled chicken, chopped cilantro, toasted pastilla chile, crema and onion. I was so anxious for this that I forgot to snap a pic until I was half way through. A thick, rich flavorful broth, meaty chicken bites and the unmistakable lace of cilantro. Absolutely delicious, one of the highlights of our dinner. Ensalada de Salmon: Pistachio crusted pan seared fillet of salmon, organic mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, roasted corn, avocado, queso fresco and chipotle cream dressing. I love my salmon served over a bed of healthy greens and this did not disappoint in any way. Costillas de Piquin: Boneless beef short ribs, rajas, crema and tomatillo-chile piquin salsa. As dark and rich as it looks, truly melting in the mouth into a buttery, rich meat flavor. Owner John Tunney stopped by our table and insisted we try the Tamale de Elote, a fresh corn tamale with chipotle chile cream, onion, cilantro and queso fresco. A big hit! The little ring of onion sitting like a halo atop this plate was fitting. The dense stuffing of sweet, creamy corn, sauce, spices, everything just perfect. As stuffed as we were we could not resist a taste of the Devil's Food Cake dessert served with a fresh whipped cream filling and cream sauce with raspberries. Exceptionally light yet as flavorful as any chocolate cake can be. The restaurant opens to the public on June 17th and if you like well-made, traditional Mexican cuisine you will not be disappointed. It is the fourth restaurant in a small chain but the decor and ambiance does not betray the very authentic experience. Congratulations! This was one of the finest restaurant openings we've been a part of in a long time.     MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE REGULAR SESSION 2011 By: Representatives Frierson, Formby To: Rules HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 40 1 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MISS WHITNEY 2 MILLER OF POPLARVILLE, MISSISSIPPI, FOR WINNING THE TITLE OF 3 "MASTERCHEF" IN SEASON ONE OF FOX TELEVISION NETWORK'S REALITY 4 COOKING COMPETITION SERIES "MASTERCHEF." 5 WHEREAS, on September 15, 2010, University of Southern 6 Mississippi senior, Whitney Miller, was crowned "MasterChef" of 7 FOX Television's first season of "MasterChef," a reality cooking 8 competition series hosted by celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay; and 9 WHEREAS, she auditioned for the show in New Orleans, 10 Louisiana, and was one of 50 top chefs selected from around the 11 nation; and 12 WHEREAS, in the competition's finale, this 22-year-old 13 college student prevailed against a 29-year-old software engineer 14 from Boston, capturing the title of "MasterChef," $250,000.00 in 15 prize money and a contract to publish her own cookbook; and 16 WHEREAS, her winning meal included an appetizer of sweet 17 shrimp on a crispy corn cake, a main course of fried chicken with 18 creamed collard greens, and a dessert of bread pudding with 19 raspberry coulis and white chocolate sauce; and 20 WHEREAS, the second of three children born to Mary and John 21 Miller of Poplarville, Mississippi, Whitney developed her passion 22 and love for food at a young age by creating delicious meals with 23 her mother; and 24 WHEREAS, coined the "Pastry Princess" by the judges, her 25 giggly cute-as-could-be exterior concealed a steely 26 self-confidence that propelled this nutrition and biology major to 27 become a culinary champion; and H.

During the period of con- struction, temporary quarters were secured at 414 Harvard Street. The new building stands upon the site of the old building which the Club had occupied since the year 1833. In order to celebrate in an appropriate manner the comple- tion of the work and the Centennial Anniversary of the Founding of the Porcellian Club, a committee, consisting of the Building Committee and the officers of the Club, was chosen. February 21, 1891, was selected as the date, and it was decided to have the Annual Meeting and certain Literary Exercises commemorative of the occasion precede the Dinner. The Committee has prepared this volume con- taining the Literary Exercises, a brief account of the Din- ner, and a catalogue of the members of the Club to date. A full account of the Annual Meeting and the Dinner may be found in the Club records.
