ROAD TRANSPORT ORDINANCE.

RULES MADE BY THE HIGH COMMISSIONER UNDER SECTION 23.

IN EXERCISE of the powers vested in him by section 23 of the Road Cap. 128. Transport Ordinance, the High Commissioner has made the following rules : —

1. These rules may be cited as the Road Transport (Routes and Citation. Tariffs) (Amendment) Rules (No. 2), 1943, and shall be read as one with the Road Transport (Routes and Tariffs) Regulations, 1934, Gaz: 1.3.34, hereinafter referred to as the principal Rules. p. 159.

2. Paragraph (b) of Schedule I to the principal Rules shall be Amendment of amended by the deletion of the following particulars appearing in the paragraph (b) column headed "Maximum Fare chargeable per Passenger" in Route of Schedule I A 1. :— to principal Bvtles "(d) Jerusalem—Ramie — 96 mils. Citation. 1. These Rules may be cited as the Jewish Community (Amendment) Laws of Pal., Rules, 1943, and shall be read as one with the Jewish Community Rules, p. 2132. hereinafter referred to as the principal Rules.

Amendment of 2. BY-LAWS MADE BY THE GENERAL MANAGER UNDER SECTION 42.

IN EXERCISE of the powers vested in him by section 42 of the Govern• No. 29 of 1936. ment Railways Ordinance, 1936, the General Manager has made the following by-laws: —

1. These by-laws may be cited as the Government Railways (Special Citation. Tariff for the Transport of Goods) By-laws (No. 3), 1943.

2. —(1) There shall be a special tariff chargeable for the transport of Special tariff goods imported via Haifa in transit to Trans-Jordan and conveyed by prescribed. rail, at the rates prescribed in the Schedule hereto. (2) The charges provided for in the Schedule hereto include Railway rates and the surcharges provided for in the Government Railways Gaz: 25.2.43, (Fares and Rates) By-laws, 1943, Customs clearance, shipping agency p. 186. fees, wharfage and loading charges. In the case of traffic imported by rail from Egypt, the charges include Railway rates and the said sur• charges, Customs clearance and transhipment charges. The charges provided for in the Schedule hereto do not include the use of cranes, which will be charged for additionally when this service is performed, in accordance with the tariffs of charges prescribed under the Ports Cap. 114. Ordinance and in force from time to time.

3. —(1) The Government Transport Officer at Haifa will undertake Clearance the clearance at Haifa of transit goods for Trans-Jordan. at Haifa. (2) Traders will be required to appoint by written authority the Government Transport Officer, P.O.B. 121, Haifa, to act as their clear• ance agent.

4. Payment of the rates shall be made to a Railway officer duly Payment. authorised by the General Manager to collect monies or to the Chief Accountant of the Railways.
