Every move has to be made seriously and thoughtfully and the balance of views is never easy, sometimes even toiling.

Yet, we trust that the unremitting hard work and irrepressible love to the alma mater should bridge differences and conquer conflicts. If our job was satisfactory in this term, this is the key. Chapter 7 Student Affairs Sub-committee

Terms of Reference • To maintain close liaison with the Student Council (SC) and other student organisations; • To organise events on career guidance and life planning under the career support programme, Bond QC; • To support the SC in mega events, including the Open Days and the Lunar New Year Fair (LNYF); • To explore signature souvenirs with student organisations; and • To reflect views of Members and Old Boys on student affairs and student development to the school management.

To enhance students' exposure to different professions, QCOBA arranged two ad hoc projects in 2017, namely the Rehabilitation Pioneer Project of the Correctional Services Department and a visit to Queen Mary Hospital 80th Anniversary (QMH 80) Photo Exhibition "Healing with Big Hearts".

Correctional Officer and OB Mr Ken HON King-to hosted a talk to S4 students on July 3, 2017 and outlined the professional development of the career. Boys were particularly attentive to the experience sharing from a past young offender who later received rehabilitation services.

Chapter 8 Heritage and Communications Sub-committee

Terms of Reference • To work with community stakeholders, including PMQ and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, in promoting and preserving the heritage of the Queen's community; • To launch products and campaigns in collaboration with the conceptual team, Brand QC; • To coordinate in inter-committee and cross-stakeholder events; • To coordinate information and publicity disseminated on various platforms; • To closely monitor news and issues related to the Queen's community and promptly formulate responses where necessary; • To oversee the operations of the Secretariat; and • To coordinate external relations.

Heritage Tour to PMQ for Secondary One

Some 150 students visited PMQ on November 29, 2016 to study the preservation of the former campus of the Central School (predecessor of QC) and the former Hollywood Road Police Married Quarters. Guided Tour to JAO Tsung-I Academy

As part of QCOBA's ongoing efforts to line up heritage activities for boys and OBs, a guided tour to JAO Tsung-I Academy was arranged on June 30, 2017 to study the rich cultural landmark featuring artistic exhibits of Chinese culture.

The President hosted a Thank You Dinner to student helpers, stakeholders and partners as well as Mentors and Mentees of the Mentorship Programme 2017 on July 4, 2017, as a token of thanks for their support over the year.

Mentors Dr LEUNG Ka-lau, Mr Woody TONG Yiu-yin and Mr Tony LI Chun-yin gave supportive remarks to the ExCom and presented certificates to Student Affairs Secretaries and Student Photographers.

Chapter 10 Education and Development Sub-committee

Terms of Reference • To oversee the management of QCOBAES in collaboration with the Management Committee of QCOBAES (QCOBAESMC); • To maintain liaison with QCOBA Secondary School; and • To coordinate in the study of the history of QC, the QC Oral History Project with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as the preservation of artefacts related to the history of QC, and arrange with relevant parties on publication, exhibition and promotion of the history of QC.

Chapter 11 Legal Affairs Sub-committee

Terms of Reference • To follow up the revitalisation of OTTCP, including - The implementation plan of the awardee; - The management of the donation from the HonPP; - The statutory compliance with the Government Land Licence; and - The insurance incurred upon completion of revitalisation; • To advise on donations to QCOBA; and • To regularly review the Constitution of QCOBA.

Revitalisation of OTTCP

Progress of revitalisation of OTTCP into Stanley Ho Astronomical Observatory (QCOBA) is ongoing. QCOBA has been closely working with OBs of QC Astronomers' Club on the pending equipment and works necessary for its opening.

Generously supported by the HonPP Dr Stanley HO Hung-sun, the new site equipped with an open roof and telescopes movable under remote control would be able to provide boys and OBs a better place for astronomical observation with no light pollution.
