Nel 2011 JAMES BLAKE pubblica l’omonimo album di debutto, che gli è valsa una nomination ai Mercury Prize 2011 e una nomination ai BRIT Awards nella categoria “Critic’s Choice”, seguita da una nomination nel 2012 come “Miglior Artista Maschile Britannico”. Nel 2013 esce il secondo album “Overgrown”, che vanta una collaborazione con il produttore Brian Eno. L’album gli è valsa la vittoria ai Mercury Prize e una nomination ai Grammy Awards nella categoria “Best New Artist”. JAMES BLASKE annuncia nel 2016 il terzo album “The Colour in Anything”, subito alla Top40 della Billboard200 e ai vertici della U.S. Dance/Electronic Chart. Nel 2018 collabora alla colonna sonora del film Marvel “Black Panther” e ai singoli “King’s Dead” con Kendrick Lamar, Future e Jay Rock e “Bloody Waters” sempre con Lamar. “King’s Dead” si aggiudica la vittoria ai Grammy Awards 2019 nella categoria “Miglior Performance Rap”. Nel corso della sua carriera ha lavorato al fianco di artisti di prestigio come Kanye West, Drake, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar e Travis Scott e ha suonato sui palchi dei più importanti festival mondiali come Coachella, Glastonbury e Primavera Sound. “Assume Form” è il titolo dell’ultimo album pubblicato lo scorso gennaio. L’album è il risultato di un intenso periodo di evoluzione creativa e personale per James, che ha parlato apertamente delle sue esperienze di salute mentale e della ricerca della pace. We look at who these influencers are, how they can be worked with and the things that will make them back or blank you. etting your act heard used to be, if not exactly easy, then at least relatively Gstraightforward for the music business: you’d schmooze the radio playlist heads, take journalists out to a gig and pray for some TV coverage, all while splashing out on magazine and billboard advertising. The digital era – and especially social media – have shaken this all up. Yes, traditional media is still important; but to this you can add a sometimes bewildering list of “social influencers”, famous faces on platforms like YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram, plus vloggers, Viners and the music marketing meets rest, all of whom (for now) wield an uncanny power over youthful audiences.
