Children involved in this program will develop an interest for outer space or can expand a previous passion for our sensational solar system. Using the Scientific Method, campers will investigate the mechanics of unique flying machines, such as balloon-copters, boomerangs, and mini hovercrafts. Children will be transported to the past as they delve into how early “pilots” navigated throughout space as they create their own sextant and sundial. Building upon previous experiments and knowledge learned throughout the week, campers will use what they’ve learned to construct a model rocket and have the option of participating in a live launch demonstration. 6 SPECIALTY CAMPS WICKLINE CASTING’S FILM AND TV CAMPS INTRO TO FILM & TV: ACTING AND BEHIND THE SCENES (AGES 8–15) This is Wickline Casting’s original course that started 20 years ago. Your children will work as cast and crew teams in this cool class/camp. Kids learn basic levels of acting, directing, voice-over, operating the camera and working on green screen. Script writing, storyboarding and improvisation will also be introduced. Each day is different as they create projects such as commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements. Improvisation and ad-libbing (off the script) will be taught and as a basis of making acting choices and trusting their instincts.
