Upanishads 1 Einleitung „Beziehen sich Medien immer mehr auf Medien?“1 Diese Frage stellen sich Reinemann und Huismann2 in ihrem Aufsatz eingangs und stellen fest, dass die These, dass sich Medien immer häufiger auf andere Medien beziehen, mittlerweile zum allgemein akzeptierten Wissensstand in der Kommunikationswissenschaft zähle und nicht nur den journalistischen Bereich im Hinblick auf aktuelle und politische Berichterstattung umfasse, sondern PR- und Werbungsmaßnahmen von Medieninstitutionen genauso wie auch den Unterhaltungsbereich betreffe (vgl. hierzu den Abschnitt „Selbstreferentialität“ in Latzer 1999). Blöbaum gibt in seinem Beitrag im Prinzip eine Antwort auf die Frage, ob Selbstreferentialität zugenommen habe und was dies für konkrete Auswirkungen auf die Bereiche des Journalismus, der Werbung und Unterhaltung habe: „Diese Fragen sind theoretisch wie empirisch noch ungeklärt, die empirische Forschung und die theoretische Durchdringung des Konzepts der Selbstreferentialität stehen noch am Anfang.“3 Reinemann und Huismann führen in ihrem Beitrag aus 2007 an, dass sich an diesem Sachverhalt nichts geändert habe. Offen sei vor allem, wie potentielle Auswirkungen theoretisch zu modellieren und empirisch zu untersuchen wären4. In vielen Wissenschaftsgebieten wird dem Thema der Selbstreferentialität Aufmerksamkeit gezollt. Bartlett gibt bereits 19875 eine beeindruckende Auflistung der Gebiete, in welchen Selbstreferenz6 bzw. verwandte Begriffe wie Selbstähnlichkeit, Selbstorganisation, Autopoiesis etc. untersucht werden: Dies beginnt bei der Linguistik und Literaturwissenschaft (Reflexivität), Rechtswissenschaft, Spieltheorie, 1 Reinemann/Huismann 2007, S. 465 2 Vgl. Now, Bell is readying a new EP called ​ Somewhere in the Nowhere. Lynch wrote and produced the project, which ​ is out October 7. Stream Bell’s new song “Beat the Beat” from the EP below. In a press release, David Lynch said of Bell: “The first time I saw her perform, I thought she was like an alien. The most beautiful alien ever.” He added that she “is not only a killer performer, she also has a great intuitive ability to catch a mood and find a melody that’s really spectacular.” Bell is currently working on her sophomore LP, which she has recorded ​ ​ with longtime PJ Harvey producer John Parish. The forthcoming album features Portishead’s Adrian Utley, Sunn O)))’s Stephen O’Malley, and Yes’ Geoff Downes. It is due out next year. In addition to her musical collaborations with Lynch, Chrysta Bell is a part of the cast for his 2017 “Twin Peaks” reboot. She will join the likes of Trent ​ ​ Reznor, Sky Ferreira, Sharon Van Etten, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, and more on the program.
