The original hall burnt down and was rebuilt in 1830. During the Second World War, it stood at the centre of living quarters of a US Air Force base, which was home to the 467th bomb group. The house itself is a modern property, built as a ‘gatehouse’ in the grounds of the hall. With a large private garden, as well as the benefit of communal grounds, the enviable position greatly appealed to the owner. A Rural Retreat “I remember coming down the drive to reach the hall. At the time I was living and working in London and Birmingham and this felt so different. There were sheep grazing in the fields, it was lambing season and I fell in love with the peace and sense of open space,” he explains. This was the last house to be built on the development and he bought the property as a new build, full of character with wooden floors and flooded with light through large windows. It was a one bedroom home at the time and after a few years the owner added a significant extension incorporating the garage and building a new drive and detached garage. The property now has over twice its original floor area and offers impressive accommodation. The kitchen is the highlight with vaulted ceilings and roof lights as well as doors leading out onto a sunny porcelain tiled area which is fully lit. From the kitchen French doors lead out to the rear decking, whilst a further door takes you through to the separate utility room. Also on the ground floor you discover the… Master Bedroom Formerly the garage, this has been cleverly converted to provide a large double bedroom. With French doors affording access out to the rear gardens. Timber floors continue into here form the hall, whilst a door offers access through into a very spacious en suite bathroom, complete with separate shower. We have invited traders & mobile caterers to set up stalls on site, as well as St John’s first aiders & physios/sports massage therapists Hot and cold food and drinks will be available across the two days, either from mobile caterers within the grounds of City Academy Norwich, or indoors at the Sportspark, at the Sportscafe. There are other facilities available indoors at the Sportspark, open to public use, such as a swimming pool, gym & climbing wall all available for public hire for anyone bringing family or supporters Umpires (min C award) will be arranged; please indicate below if you’d like to bring one of your own. Accommodation The pandemic restrictions have made hotel bookings a little tricky! Consequently, we’re relying on you booking your own accommodation this year.
