Teams shall be restricted to any State or Region within the boundaries and affiliated to either the Australian Badminton Association or the New Zealand Badminton Federation, and additional teams representing nations affiliated to the BWF, subject also to the provisions of 27.3. 27.1.2. Competitors must have bona-fide registration to the national association affiliated to the BWF of the country where they normally reside. 27.1.3. All competitors must be under the age of 15 years on December 31 of the year in which the carnival is held. 27.1.4. The report focuses on current and future levels of airborne fine particulate matter (PM10 – particles less than 10 micrometres in diameter) in the region, identification of peaks in PM10, effects of emissions reduction scenarios, cross- boundary dispersion, and compliance with the National Environmental Standard (NES) for 24-hour-average PM10 and World Health Organization (WHO) guideline for 24-hour-average PM2.5. It also gives a qualitative comparison of source apportionment and emissions inventory studies carried out in the region, and provides a suite of modelled meteorological data sets for use in dispersion modelling as part of industrial resource consent applications. Source-apportionment data were used to give an indication of naturally-occurring levels of PM10. These have been combined with airshed modelling results for the dispersion of PM10 from sources such as domestic heating, motor vehicles and industry. This work thus gives estimates of total PM10, from both anthropogenic and natural sources. The airshed model, TAPM, performed well in simulating peak PM10 concentrations measured at the HBRC air quality monitoring sites at Marewa Park and St John’s College.

We have lost two of our best known and long standing Members. Our Hon Treasurer for over 25 years Paul Thomson died after a sudden illness and Heather Robson MNZM, wife of our Patron Jeff Robson, but a member in her own right, died recently after being unwell for the past year. There will be more news about these two members in the newsletter. The better news is that although we have enjoyed visits to our country by teams from France, Luxembourg and the Czech Republic in the last few years, we have travelled ourselves with 2 teams representing ICNZ playing overseas in the last 2 months. It always takes many months to organise teams, especially when we entered a men’s team in the IC France Week to help celebrate their 90th anniversary.

    TOKYO 2020 OLYMPIC GAMES NOMINATION CRITERIA FOR BADMINTON EVENTS BADMINTON NEW ZEALAND 1. Application of this Nomination Criteria 1.1 This Nomination Criteria is issued by the Board of Badminton New Zealand. 1.2 This Nomination Criteria shall take effect from 16th February 2021 and was amended on 8 March 2021. This Nomination Criteria supersedes the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Nomination Criteria for Badminton Events dated 14th July 2018. 1.3 This Nomination Criteria applies to: (a) all Athletes wishing to be considered for nomination to the Games Team to compete in the Games in a Badminton Event; and (b) Badminton New Zealand, including its Selectors, that wish to nominate Athletes to NZOC to be considered for selection to the Games Team for the Games. 2.
