Thanks also to all involved in 1st Reading—1Kg 19:16.19-21 the Mass and celebration in the Lunchroom afterwards to mark 2nd Reading—Gal 5:1.13-18 the Diamond Jubilee of Fr Michael Goaley. As usual in the parish Gospel—Lk 9:51-62 of Glenamaddy you show a great example of true community spirit with everyone being so helpful and co-operative in all our Church celebrations. Check it out on St. Patrick’s Church, Glenamaddy Facebook. FAMILY FOCUS WEEK at Knock Shrine will take from July 9 th – 15 th . It will be begin with the blessing of young children (0-12 yrs) at 12 noon on Saturday July 9 th in the Basilica and blessing of the new Remembrance Garden dedicated to the memory of all deceased chil- dren will take place at 2pm also on July 9 th . GLENAMADDY MUSICAL SOCIETY are holding auditions for roles in our upcoming production of “Oliver”. The auditions will take place in the Town Hall Theatre, Glenamaddy on Wed 22 nd June at 6:30pm for children (third to sixth classes incl) and second level stu- dents. Adults from 8pm. LGFA U8’S/10 training every Wed @ 5-45pm for approx. 1hr alternating each week between Glenamaddy and Williamstown. Blitz this Sunday in Clonberne at 10am. Good luck to our u14 girls & team management who play Annaghdown away this Sunday @ 4pm, please support. Our senior ladies play the Div 2 league final v Moycullen on Friday 24 th June, time and venue to be decided. Congrats to Canon Michael Goaley on his Diamond Jubilee to the Priesthood. Club meeting @ 9pm Monday in GAA meeting room. Cash for Clobber on go- ing, please leave bags up on stage in Glenamaddy Community Centre. Best of luck to all doing Exams. GLENAMADDY GOLF SOCIETY Captain Louie Earls outing took place Bank Holiday Monday to Gort Golf Club. The sun shone in all its glory as we made our way to the first T- Box. The course was in excellent condition and the scores were tight with a neck and neck finish be- tween our man from the 'Bridge' Michael Conneally and our 'Kilkerrin Rd' lad Padraig Molloy with 35 pts each, in the end Padraig won on breakdown. Martin Finn our Mayo member came third on 34 pts. Thanks Louie for a fine table of prizes. GENTS GAA: Our Intermediate team were beaten by Williamstown 0-17 to 0-10 in the Cahill Cup. Well done to Glenamaddy/Glinsk un- der 14 who had a great win v An Ceathru Rua 4-15 to 3-5 in the championship. The club would like to congratulate Fr. Goaley on cele- brating his Diamond Jubilee to the Priesthood. The club would like to sympathise with the Tully family on the death of Robert Tully, GLENAMADDY/GUISCRIFF TWINNING. In Spring 2018 Glenamaddy will be Celebrating 25years of Twinning with Guiscriff, the commit- tee hope to put together a week long programme of free events for the Community. In order to do this we need to Fundraise and we wish to thank you all for your generosity to date. On Sat 25th June we will be holding our annual Church gate collection. GLENAMADDY CLUBS’ LOTTO No Jackpot winner in last Wednesday’s draw, numbers drawn were 8,12,24,27. 5 matched 3 numbers and share €100. Next Wed’s Lotto Jackpot will be €5,900. GLENAMADDY BINGO on Wednesday nights in the Community Centre at 8.30pm. €1,200 in prize money including €500 Jackpot. NATIONAL TIDY TOWNS ADJUDICATION All Groups, Clubs and Businesses have been asked to refrain from putting up signs in the town and vicinity during the months of June, July & August. We hope this will be respected and any existing signs would be removed. GLENAMADDY BRIDGE CLUB celebrated the end of our season in the Ard Ri Hotel. Built of exposed coursed rubble with cut stone dressings in 1832.Set back from road behind railings with an adjoining graveyard at rear. Building now derelict. 2 Bagot Tomb DURROW Box tomb with carved recumbent crusader effigy, side and end panels with inscriptions and 2 169710 271820 heraldic motifs, set above large mausoleum consisting of tumulus. Erected by John Lloyd Bagot of Ballmoe c1830 . Set within an enclosed ancient graveyard with numerous headstones. 5 Quinns Corn and Tuck CONAGHER Small mill complex consisting of two-bay two-storey former corn and tuck mill and ancillary 4 143300 264950 Mill structures, c. 1825. Erected on river bank. In derelict condition, internal fittings removed and now used for farm storage. 6 St Patrick's Church GARRAFRAUNS Single-cell five bay Roman Catholic church with rendered facade and cut-stone dressings to 4 145420 265170 pointed opes,buttresses and quoins, c. 1870. The interior has an open truss roof, balcony and stained glass windows. Renovated c. 1990. Set within small enclosed site that contains belfry serving as shelter for statue in grounds. 7 St. Mary's Church / KILTIVNA Single-cell Roman Catholic church with a seven bay side elevation, rendered facade, round 5 155140 267390 Church of Christ the headed opes and open truss roof, c. 1880. Renovated c. 1990. Set on elevated site.
