This adapter combines a 5V & 12V Power-Over-eSATA port with a USB port. The 12V enabled eSATAp technology supports connection to 2.5” and 3.5” SATA drives without the need for a separate power adapter – the power can be driven from the 12V enabled eSATAp port using separately available 5 or 12V enabled eSATAp cables. A male port requires a cable with a female connector. • Female ports: have holes in the connector into which the male cable pins are inserted. External Connectivity • Some connectors on integrated motherboards are either D-shell connectors (They are named for their characteristic D-shaped metal shield) or DIN connectors.
