CALELLA GRAND FESTIVAL 2017 “ALEGRIA” – Spain 17.06 – 24.06.2017 & 24.06 – 01.07.2017

Calella is a seaside town on the Costa del Maresme, 58 km northeast of Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain. It is located on the coast between Sant Pol de Mar and Pineda de Mar. Calella is a town with more than 650 years of history, and about three kilometers of beaches with clean sand and intense blue waters. Calella with its location makes it a first-class coastal destination awarded with the European quality Blue Flag - Calella beach.

Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, is known for its art and architecture. Barcelona is one of the world's leading tourist, economic, trade fair and cultural centers, and its influence in commerce, education, entertainment, media, fashion, science, and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the world's major global cities.

During the free time, On Groups request, the Festival Team can organize several excursions:

 Sightseeing Barcelona (Sagrada familia, Park guell, Aquarium)  Dali Museum  Spain village  Camp Nou  Flamenco night  Montserat

FESTIVAL CONDITIONS: The International Folk Festival “Alegria” is a non-competitive sample of traditional dances performed by folklore groups. On the festival may participate children and youth folklore dance groups, modern dance groups, choirs, as well as groups and performers from other art styles with minimum 10 persons on the stage. The age of participants is not limited.

During the festival each group will have 2-3 performances in Calella in the evening hours. Depending of the number of the groups we will let you know about the minutes of your performance. During the day groups are free to visit Barcelona for sightseeing the city attractions or for shopping, or simply enjoy the free time on the beach. Every Group will be rewarded with a Certificate for taking part on the Festival.

NOTE: Each group must send us the music for the performances by email, 10 days before the festival starts.

Accommodation: The accommodation of the groups will be in 3*** Hotels only 50-100 meters from the beach and 200 meters to center of Calella. The Groups will be accommodated in rooms with 3 and 4 beds with their own bathroom. Each Group can have 3 double rooms, guaranteed by Festival which can be used for the Leaders and Drivers.

NOTE: Please send us the rooming list by 5th May so we can arrange rooming like you wish. Groups that do not send, the rooming list will be made by festival and can’t be any changes upon arrival.

Apply now on our web site: www.folklorefestival.com The Festival fee is: for the period 17/06 - 24/06 4 days = 139 euro per person 5 days = 169 euro per person 6 days = 195 euro per person 7 days = 220 euro per person for the period 24/06 – 01/07 4 days = 143 euro per person 5 days = 175 euro per person 6 days = 206 euro per person 7 days = 235 euro per person It covers accommodation in 3*** hotels for 4, 5, 6, and/or 7 nights with three meals per day (buffet basis), and organization expanses. On every 25 participant, 26th is free of charge.

Attention: Under the law of Catalonia (1.11.2012), for the first 7 days of staying in Hotel, additional payment for touristic tax should be made by the Group participant directly to the Hotel: Hotels 1*/2**/3*** → 0.5 Euro per person/per day (only for guests older then 16 years old)

Transport and travel conditions: The groups should pay the travel expenses by themselves to Calella and back. The festival will organize the transport for the groups coming by plane by picking them up from Barcelona or Girona airports, and back to the same airport. The cost of the bus transportation will be paid by the groups and will cost 700 Euro for both directions.

Parking for buses (during your stay) is paid by the group at the rate set on the parking place (approximately 18 euro per day).

The groups coming by bus can use their own transport all the time during the festival and the small journeys around the city. Any expense caused by the usage of the bus (accident, robbing, breakdown, etc...) should be covered by the vehicle’s insurance. Each member must have travel insurance policy.

We will appreciate if you can send us the application form by 15th April 2017. After acceptance of your application form, an official invitation will be issued by the Municipality. We can assist you in obtaining visa for Spain if necessary.

The organizer reserves the right to any changes in the program, and the participants will be informed on time. By applying you confirm that you accept all festival conditions!

OPTIONAL: on the way to Callela or on the way back home we can organize one night stay in Paris, Lido di Jesolo, Verona, Pargue, Vienna, Budapest and/or Ljubljana so you can visit the city attractions.
