It may sound dangerous, but every year in October this practice begins. Many dangers are hidden in the Halloween tradition, whether in plain sight or deeper into the holiday. One of the most dangerous items of Halloween is the costumes. Face paint has been shown to be potentially hazardous to young children. The paint has potential to include heavy, dangerous metals in them, which are dangerous and harmful. The costumes themselves are another hazard, whether they be too tight around the neck or wrists or be a tripping risk. Some costumes are too long or billowing and can cause children to trip into oncoming traffic. Cars and pedestrians are another concern on this night. Since people are paying less attention due to the excitement of free food, they may not look when crossing the road or not closely enough. During this night, car accidents are twice more likely than other nights of the year. With these warnings, there will hopefully be fewer tragedies this Halloween.
