This study used qualitative research methods and data collection was carried out by following the ceremony held directly by the Maha Puja Navarathiri & Vijaya Dhasamiumat Hindu ceremony at the Sri Mariaman Temple, Medan City. This research was conducted at the Srimariaman temple, where the navaratri is carried out for nine days every night in a row by Hindus living in the city of Medan. The result of this research is that this celebration is a worship for goddesses who have fought long ago against evil, namely giants. This celebration performed at Worship was done to please the goddesses for nine days as many days as it took for the goddess to defeat the evil monster. -

Recent research is divided over the antiquity and likely origins of this ritual, but at least two centuries of practice qualifies it as an established part of Europe’s cultural land- scape.1 It may be helpful to the debate, and in pursuit of the research theme at the 2012 symposium, to ask what if any common ground exists between these ceremonies and comparable traditions in other European regions and in other ages. By bringing these abuses into the light of day, the Hindu American Foundation is leading the fight for international policies that promote tolerance and understanding of Hindu beliefs and bring an end to religious persecution. DIS Journal 2020 XIII Critical Evaluation of the Narrative Song of Muthalamman S.Kanamani Ganesan Principal, Sri Kaliswari Collge Sivakasi. 626189 India Abstract Critical Evaluation of the Narrative Song of Muthalamman aimed at studying the folklore songs that narrate the story of the seven sisters, highlighting the importance of the seventh sister Muthalamman. There is not even a single instance mentioning the name Angala Eswari within the song; hence, it is called as the narrative song of Muthalamman. Angala Eswari Amman Kathai Paadal is a war ballad sung, while performing Kummi during the month of Masi in Therukattu Pongal. It bears the elements of folk songs. It serve as evidence portraying the beauty of classical literature, with eleven sections in the structure of the ballad. The aim of the ballad is to prove that Saktham is equivalent to Saivism and Vaishnavism. It talks indirectly that female Gods are not inferior to the male Gods. Besides, the songs have a lot of social issues and ethnographical information have dealt in. The study show that the folklore songs were rich in information and message to the local community.
