He obtained his PhD and MBA degrees in Islamic Finance from International Islamic University Malaysia. He was an Associate Professor and Head of Business School at University College of Bahrain. Dr. Hidayat has published a significant number of research papers in reputable international journals. He is also an editor for many journals. He has published several books and contributed chapters in 1 many books. He is also an Islamic finance journalist. He and his team at KNEKS were suppliers of data to many global Islamic economic reports in 2019 that led to a significant increase of Indonesia’s ranking in those reports. Due to his contribution to the Islamic Economy, He was recognized as one of the top influential 500 personalities on a global scale by ISFIN, a leading advisory firm for Islamic markets in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. PhD thesis entitles: “A Comparative Study on the Impacts of the 2007-2008 Global Financial Crisis into Islamic and Conventional Banks’ Financial Performance in the GCC Countries”. July 2004-Oct 2005 : Master of Business Administration in Islamic Banking and Finance, International Islamic University Malaysia. Graduated with excellent CGPA: 3.562 Aug 1999 – Oct 2003 : Bachelor in Management of Agribusiness (Honors), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB).
