CONSULATE GENERAL OF THE REPUBLIC OF , MUMBAI, INDIA Indonesia Participated in Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) at Bombay Exhibiton Centre, Mumbai 8-10 February 2013 : The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) has facilitated the delegation from the Ministry of Tourism and Economy Creative of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf) for the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) held on 8-10 February 2013 at Bombay Exhibiton Centre, Mumbai. OTM is the biggest ehibition for travel and tourism industry in India with 26 (twenty six) countries included Indonesia and 22 (twenty two) country states also participated to this event. Total of 14 (fourteen) Indonesia travel agents was supporting this exhibition together with the delegation from Kemenparekraf in the 3 (three) days exhibiton, reported more than 12,000 visitors including individual travelers, media and business people. Indonesia participation at OTM 2013 in Mumbai has a positive impact and is very useful in promoting culture-tourism industry as India is a potential tourist market for Indonesia as the number will continue to increase each year.

Indonesian Students Won the First Prize in the Cultural Event of International Youth Festival 2012-2013 at the University of Pune, India 10 February 2013 : Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Mumbai has presented invitation from the University of Pune for the International Youth Festival 2012-2013 that was held on 10 February 2013 in Pune. This annual event from the University of Pune for a contest of art and cultural performances from the foreign students in University of Pune together with the 40 (forty) affiliated universities. For this event, Indonesian students has shown Saman traditional dance from Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam also presented traditional culinary (such as risoles “spring rolls”, “mix-vegetables cutlet”, “fruit cocktails”, lapis legit “layer cake” and godok pisang “boiled banana”) and has won the first prize Cultural Event from 25 (twenty five) participants from other countries.

Gathering with Indonesian “Spa Therapists” in Goa, India 17 February 2013 : Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Mumbai has organized a gathering and forum to communicate with Indonesian citizen, especially Indonesian workers as Spa Therapist in Panjim and Calangute, Goa on 17 February 2013. This event was held as one of regular agenda, realization of duties and responsibilities from the consular function such as an interactive dialogue to encourage them to be more aware to register their presence, procedure for mix-marriage and information about the dual-citizenship for children below 18 (eighteen) years. More than 20 (twenty) Indonesian women’s spa therapist attended the said event and their age between 17-35 years. Based on KJRI’s data record, that there is at least 70 (seventy) Indonesian spa therapists are working in our jurisdictions.
