It is just north of Porto, the second largest city of Portugal and belongs to the Porto Metropolitan Area where over 1.7 million people live in 2040 km². Matosinhos Municipality: Area - 62.3 km² Population (2014) - ~174 000 Population density - ~2800 /km² 10 km Climate Matosinhos has a temperate Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influences. Infrastructures Despite the small primary sector, fishing is still one important activity in the municipality.
