Christian missionaries are now using new methods in the Islamic world, because the old methods did not prove as effective as the Christian missionaries thought they were. Some of these new ways are :- 1) They started using Islamic names, for examples one of their radio stations that has a person that is responsible for answering the questions of the listeners is called "Shiekh Abd-Allah", his program is called "Allahu Akbar", other radio stations are called "Sawt Al-haq", "Noor A'la Noor".

Muhammad Kabiru Nasallah Department of Islamic Studies, Shehu Shagari Collage of Education, Sokoto. Abstract: It is vital to introduce this chapter by shedding light on the meaning of Al-Tajweed, its position in the Shari’ah, its significance and basic components. Thereafter, an outline would be made on the statement of the research paper, justification for embarking on the research, aims and objectives of tajweed among the Muslim Ummah. What the Qur’an presents to Muslims is neither the Islamization of life nor the absolute separation of religion from life. Separating religion from the state is essential, but it does not mean relegating religion to the background of social life. The Qur’an as a mode of communication between God and man teaches us something more beyond ‘law’ and ‘politics’ in the narrow sense of the two terms. It teaches us that the literal interpretation means that we lock the Word of God in the moment of its historical annunciation. Put differently, we are taught to limit the meaning of the Qur’an to the first phase of its historical construction, whereas we have to be aware of the other phase in order to grasp the dynamics, according to which the Qur'an has been able to form and shape the life of Muslims.1 (William A.

  • A Qur'an – Curriculum Integration Process (Q-Cip) Model
1 Submission to ISNA Education Forum 2007 Curriculum and Standards Track A Qur’an – Curriculum Integration Process (Q-cip) Model By: Dr. Mohammed Saleh Educational Consultant [email protected] 2 A Qur’an – Curriculum Integration Process (Q-cip) Model Abstract By: Dr. Mohammed Saleh [email protected] This paper introduces a model of Qur’an curriculum integration process (abbreviated as Q-cip). In a nutshell, the model says that knowledge given to students in the Muslim schools should be connected to the Qur’an. The model attempts to make the connection at three levels: foundation, implementation, and mission. These connections are taken from the supplication of Prophet Ibrahim (Qur’an 2:129): Telawah (Recitation), Ta’aleem (learning) and Tazkiyah (Self Purification). The building block of the model is the “aayah”, symbolically referred to as (A). The building of an integrated curriculum begins with selecting the (A). Then related knowledge parts (K) are added and presented to students. The real integration takes place in the “inside” of students where digestion takes place allowing the mind to produce new “understandings” and the soul to progress on the purification continuum. The Q-cip model is to be in the early stage of development; it should be viewed as such. It is hoped that the application of the Q-cip model will carry Islam (letter and spirit) to the entire school where it is applied. The application of the model will need a great deal of work, consultation, cooperation, and commitment just like other pioneering projects. Key Words: Telawah, Ta’aleem, Tazkiyah, Aayah (A), knowledge Parts (K), Integration .

religions Article The Mosque as an Educational Space: Muslim Women and Religious Authority in 21st-Century Spain Marivi Pérez Mateo Department of Arab and Islamic Studies, University Autonoma of Madrid, 28049 Madrid, Spain; [email protected] Received: 3 February 2019; Accepted: 21 March 2019; Published: 25 March 2019 Abstract: This article presents the results of a fieldwork project from January to April 2017 in Spanish mosques, an on-the-ground investigation using interviews with female Muslim teachers who constitute a sort of women’s movement within Islamic education in Islamic associations and schools across Spain. These women reflect on their zeal for teaching and the desire to receive an education in Islamic studies among Muslim women, students and teachers, who participate in these activities to transmit their knowledge of Islam in Spain. These female teachers form a heterodox group of interconnected educators who have acquired status within their communities, legitimized by their ability to impart Islamic religious knowledge, and who could prove to be potential alternative educational authorities in Spanish Islam. This educational activity by and for women in Spanish mosques, which has been studied by others at the European level could be seen as a revitalization of religious dynamics or as processes of re-Islamization. However, as the interviewees themselves observe, ‘we never stopped believing and practicing’, suggesting that this educational activity should be situated within the framework of the active search for Islamic knowledge in a non-Islamic European context. Keywords: women; teaching; Islam; Spanish mosques 1. Introduction This article looks at the dynamics behind education developed by and for women in mosques and Islamic cultural centers in Spain.

International Journal on Islamic Applications in Computer Science And Technology, Vol. 4, Issue 2, June 2016, 1-9 E-Tarteel : Visualizing Quranic Tajweed Rules Robiah Hamzaha, Ahmad Zharif Soiabb , Zailatul Syeema Mahadic Malaysian Institute of Information Technology, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UNIKL), Malaysia e-mail: [email protected],[email protected],[email protected] ABSTRACT Qur’an is the most important and priceless heritage for the Muslims. Since it is a very meaningful reference to the Muslims, the Muslims are urged to understand and practice the teachings of Qur’an. There have been a variety of Qur’an applications that have been developed to help Muslims to recite the Qur’an online. The purpose of this research is to develop the Qur’an tajweed self-learning application named E-Tarteel which is able to guide the new Qur’an learners who want to learn reciting the Qur’an in a proper pronunciation in tajweed. E-Tarteel is a web application that uses the various types of tools and frameworks for developing the interactive e-learning tajweed where it is able to provide the self-learning for the student to learn tajweed by themselves. In E-Tarteel, the Tajweed categories that have been covered is the noon saakin rules, that is izhar halqi, ikhfa hakiki, idgham maal ghunnah, idgham bila ghunnah, and iqlab. This Tajweed engine works when the first or tanween meets any character of Tajweed category and it will create the (ن) Arabic character noon colored text of correct Tajweed. Hopefully the development of E-Tarteel will be able to be the new approach in assisting Muslim to understand and learn Tajweed during reciting Qur’an since the application can be accessed anywhere.
