Practice the commands in Qur-aan such as: When the verse “[O Muhammad] Say, 'I do not ask for any reward for this [bringing of Allah's message] except the love for the near kinship [qurba]. " (42:23) was revealed, the Muslims asked the Prophet: "Who are these near kin of yours whose love is obligatory upon us?“ The Prophet replied, "'Ali, Fatima, and their two sons." 8 SG Aadaab of Tilaawat-e-Qur-aan 1. Read Salawwat before and after reciting the Qur- aan. 2. Always start the recitation with Ta’awwuz So when you recite the Qur'an, [first] seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the expelled [from His mercy]. [16:98] 3. And then … [Surah-e-Al-Hamd:1, Surah-e-Naml:30] 9 SG [73:4] Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited. [Surat.al.Muzzammil, verse 4] 10 SG Definition of Tajweed & Tarteel What is at-Tarteel? According to Imam Ali (as) at-Tarteel means: “Tajweedul-huroof wa Ma’rifatul-wuqoof” That is; to recite every letter with Tajweed and to know where to stop and where to start (continue). Thus, there are two parts to at-Tarteel: a. Tajweedul-Huroof, and b. Ma’rifatul-Wuqoof 11 SG Introduction to Arabic Alphabets Huroof-e-Tahajji, Arabic Letters are represented by the shapes shown on the right. Each letter is pronounced in a specific manner called Makhrej or Makhaarij (plural). 12 SG Arabic VOWELS (Harakaat) Vowel Description ◌ – –◌◌ ◌◌ Fatha – –◌◌ ◌◌ Kasra Dhammah ◌ – –◌◌ ◌◌ ◌ – –◌◌ ◌◌ 2 Fatha / Fathatain / Nasb – –◌◌ ◌◌ 2 Kasra / Kasratain / Jer ◌ – –◌◌ ◌◌ 2 Dhammah / Dhamatain / Raf 13 SG Arabic Letter with VOWELS Vowel Description Letter with Fatha - “Maftooh” Letter with Kasra - “Maksoor” Letter with Dhammah - “Madhmoom” Letter with Fathatain / Nasb - “Mansoob” Letter with Kasratain / Jer - “Majroor” Letter with Dhamatain / Raf – “Marfooh” 14 SG Arabic VOWELS (Shaddah, Madd & Jazm) Vowel Description ◌ – –◌◌ ◌◌ Sign of Shaddah Sheen, letter with Shaddah = Mushaddad Sign of Madd (must be extended to 2 – 6 ◌ – – ◌ sec / 1 – 3 alif ) Laam, letter with Madd = Mamdooh __o _ Sign of Sakin / Sukoon / Jazm Laam & Raa, letters with Jazm = Majzoom 15 SG Arabic VOWELS (Haa-e-Marboota & Alif-e-Mamdoodah) Vowel Description The letter “Ha” in Allah = Haa-e-Marboota The Alif or daggered Fatha = Alif-e- Mamdoodah 16 SG What is Ghunnah? Done on two letters: Meem-e- Mushaddad and Noon-e-Mushaddad. Done by bringing air from the oral cavity to the nasal cavity. Must be stretched 2 seconds (according to the readers standards). 17 SG The Rules of Noon Saakin and Tanween Noon Saakin means a Noon with a Jazm/Sukoon on it. Tanween means two Fatha (Nasb), two Kasra (Jar), and two Dhamma (Raf) There are four rules related to Noon Saakin and Tanween . In all of the rules, you must look at the letter after the Noon Saakin or Tanween to determine which rule to follow. 18 SG Izhaar When the noon saakin or tanween is followed by any of the Huroof al-Halaqiyya, Izhaar will take place. ,Guttural Letters , اَ ْ َ َِ ُ The huroof al-halaqiyya letters that are pronounced from the throat, Division III, Group 2; are: ءه ع ح غ خ Izhaar means to pronounce the “N” sound of the noon saakin or tanween clearly WITHOUT stretching it . SG Iqlaab (Qalb) If a letter BAA appears after the Noon Saakin or Tanween , Iqlaab will take place. Iqlaab means to change the sound of a Noon Saakin or tanween (“N” sound) into a meem . The sound will also be stretched into a Ghunna . Usually there is a little meem to signify this change. SG Idghaam (Naaqis & Kaamil) Idghaam means to combine or merge the “N” sound of the Noon or tanween with the following letter. If after the Noon Saakin or Tanween any of the ,Yaa, Raa, Meem, Laam, Waaw) ر ون letters of Noon) appear, Idghaam will be done. (Yaa, Waaw, Meem, Noon) ون ,In four letters Idghaam will be WITH Ghunna , called Idghaam Naaqis . Laam and Raa), Idghaam will) ل ر ,In the two letters be without Ghunna , called Idghaam Kaamil . SG Ikhfa There are 15 letters of Ikhfa ; they are: ت ث ج د ذ ز س ش ص ض ط ظ ف كق Whenever any of these fifteen letters appear after Noon Saakin or Tanween, Ikhfa will be done. Ikhfa means to slightly “hide” the “N” sound of the Noon Saakin and Tanween, bring the shadow of the letter, vibrate in the nose , and lengthen it slightly, i.e. perform Ghunna. 22 SG Any Ghunnah or 4 Pillars of Tajweed rules? I take refuge in Allah (swt) from the accursed Shaitan. The model attempts to make the connection at three levels: foundation, implementation, and mission. These connections are taken from the supplication of Prophet Ibrahim (Qur’an 2:129): Telawah (Recitation), Ta’aleem (learning) and Tazkiyah (Self Purification). The building block of the model is the “aayah”, symbolically referred to as (A). The building of an integrated curriculum begins with selecting the (A). Then related knowledge parts (K) are added and presented to students. The real integration takes place in the “inside” of students where digestion takes place allowing the mind to produce new “understandings” and the soul to progress on the purification continuum. The Q-cip model is to be in the early stage of development; it should be viewed as such. It is hoped that the application of the Q-cip model will carry Islam (letter and spirit) to the entire school where it is applied. The application of the model will need a great deal of work, consultation, cooperation, and commitment just like other pioneering projects. These women reflect on their zeal for teaching and the desire to receive an education in Islamic studies among Muslim women, students and teachers, who participate in these activities to transmit their knowledge of Islam in Spain. These female teachers form a heterodox group of interconnected educators who have acquired status within their communities, legitimized by their ability to impart Islamic religious knowledge, and who could prove to be potential alternative educational authorities in Spanish Islam. This educational activity by and for women in Spanish mosques, which has been studied by others at the European level could be seen as a revitalization of religious dynamics or as processes of re-Islamization. However, as the interviewees themselves observe, ‘we never stopped believing and practicing’, suggesting that this educational activity should be situated within the framework of the active search for Islamic knowledge in a non-Islamic European context. There have been a variety of Qur’an applications that have been developed to help Muslims to recite the Qur’an online. The purpose of this research is to develop the Qur’an tajweed self-learning application named E-Tarteel which is able to guide the new Qur’an learners who want to learn reciting the Qur’an in a proper pronunciation in tajweed. E-Tarteel is a web application that uses the various types of tools and frameworks for developing the interactive e-learning tajweed where it is able to provide the self-learning for the student to learn tajweed by themselves. In E-Tarteel, the Tajweed categories that have been covered is the noon saakin rules, that is izhar halqi, ikhfa hakiki, idgham maal ghunnah, idgham bila ghunnah, and iqlab. This Tajweed engine works when the first or tanween meets any character of Tajweed category and it will create the (ن) Arabic character noon colored text of correct Tajweed. Hopefully the development of E-Tarteel will be able to be the new approach in assisting Muslim to understand and learn Tajweed during reciting Qur’an since the application can be accessed anywhere.
