@CritSnacks Recipe: Fjord's Chex-Blade's Curse

Dry Ingredients (Chex-Blade's Mix)

• 2 cups rice Chex • 2 cups corn Chex • 2 cups waffle pretzels • 1/2 cup of bagel chips • 1/2 cup peas • 1/2 cup crunchy chow mein noodles • 1 cup wasabi soy almonds • 1 cup crushed pre-packaged ramen • 6 tablespoons soy sauce • 1 tsp powder • 1 tsp powder • Color dust - green • Color dust - blue • Black pearlescent powder • White pearlescent powder

Liquid Ingredients (Chex-Blade's Mix)

• 6 Tbsp soy sauce • 1 Tbsp wasabi paste • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce • 3 Tbsp maple syrup

Ingredients (Eye)

• Royal icing mix • Water (1/2 tsp at a time) • Yellow food dye • Gold pearlescent powder • Black food dye • Black pearlescent powder

Utensils

• 2-4 cookie sheets • 1 roll of parchment paper • 0.5 Tbsp measuring spoon • 1 Tbsp measuring spoon • 1-4 mixing bowls • Toothpicks/skewers • 2 piping bags • Circular tips 3 and 5 • Spoon, any size • Kitchen timer • Blender (optional) • Friend (recommended, but not required)

Day 1: The Eyes

1. Mix the royal icing mix as outlined by the mixing instruction on the box. Add 1/2 Tbsp of water until you can drop a spoonful back into the mix, and count to 20 seconds before the drops fully rejoin the vat of icing. Royal icing isn’t for the faint of heart; research is generally recommended. 2. Remove about 1/3 of the icing and place it in another container. 3. Add an additional 1/2 Tbsps until you can drop a spoonful into the mixture and it takes 15 seconds before fully rejoining the mixture. 4. Add yellow food coloring and gold pearlescent powder to the mixture still remaining in the original mixing bowl. 5. Rinse/grab an additional mixing bowl. (If you rinse, be sure to dry the mixing bowl with a towel. Extra moisture will cause consistency issues.) 6. Pour the 20 second royal icing mixture into the clean mixing bowl. Add black food color and black pearlescent powder until sufficiently dark. 7. Pour yellow mixture into a piping bag, tip size 5; rubber banding open end recommended. 8. Pour black mixture into another piping bag, tip size 3. Again, rubber banding open end recommended. 9. Set out parchment paper. Cookie sheets, cardboard, and dinner trays are also options. 10. Pipe yellow icing in a larger circle, and then with the black icing, pipe in the black pupil. For best results, a fellow Critter or friend should be welding toot picks or skewers to draw a line from the center of the black icing to the edge of the yellow icing, and from the the center of the black icing to the opposite edge of the yellow icing. 11. Repeat steps 9 - 10 until you have created the desired number of eyes. 12. Place eyes some where safe to dry overnight.

Combine rice Chex, corn Chex, waffle pretzels, bagel chips, ramen noodles, lo mein noodles, wasabi peas, and wasabi soy almonds in a bowl. 4. Mix carefully, being mindful not to crush ingredients as you mix. 5. Separate the dry mix into two bowls. 6. Grab an additional mixing bowl, and mix soy sauce, wasabi paste, maple syrup, , and onion powder. 7. In the first half of the dry Chex-Blade Curse, mix half of the mixture created in steps 5 and 6. 8. Mix the dry and liquid ingredients thoroughly. 9. Add green color powder and white pearlescent powder until it has Fjord’s green color and looks slightly moist. 10. Pour the green mixture out on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet, and spread it out evenly. 11. Add the liquid mixture to the other half of the dry mixture, and mix thoroughly. 12. Add blue color dust and black pearlescent powder to the mix until it’s Fjord blue and slightly moist looking. 13. Spread the blue mixture out on the other parchment paper lined cookie sheet. 14. Place both cookie sheets in the oven, one on the top rack and one on the bottom rack. Bake for 15 minutes. 15. Flip and gently stir the mixture on the cookie sheets. 16. Place both cookie sheets back in the oven, on opposite racks, for an additional 15 minutes. 17. Take both cookie sheets out and allow to cool for 45 minutes or until all mixture is cool to the touch. 18. Place the royal icing eyes as needed for presentation. 19. CONSUME
