Aunque aparezca como “juego de palabras”, vale Cla pena referirse a la cotidianidad como diversidad y también a la diversidad como cotidia- nidad. En el primer caso, teniendo en cuenta las características señaladas al comienzo, se carece de posibilidades de verla como algo variado y, a lo mejor, divertido; sin embargo, la cotidianidad es un generador-motor de ideas; por ejemplo, la “cotidianidad académica” (en lo social) en la Universidad de La Guajira presenta una recurrencia y confluencia de la variedad de temas relacionados con lo indígena, la diversidad, … Ahora, que ello suceda es apenas normal en un contexto de multiculturalidad como el de esta región pero que se esté trabajando en distintos lugares del mundo sobre, básicamente, los mismos temas no es gratuito y tampoco que se esté produciendo la simultaneidad de investigación y reflexión sobre temas similares. Con la diversidad como “telón de fondo”, este número especial de Entretextos presenta percepciones, puntos de vista y delimitaciones conceptuales acerca de la educación y la cultura que muestran los problemas de la inmigración en Aragón (España), la situación de la afroeducación infantil y la pro- puesta cultural de un sistema educativo incluyente en La Guajira así como el aporte de la oralidad a la literacidad en el Caribe colombiano. La cultura wayuu como confluencia: entre una visión específica de la muerte de seres humanos y, otra, de la vida plasmada en su farmacopea singular, se yergue la preocupación de un etnógrafo nativo acerca de su papel de auscultador de la realidad pasada y actual de ésta, su propia tierra y su propia gente y, más aún, de su inquietud frente al futuro de la etnografía endógena. Hay una transversalidad de la búsqueda, de síntesis, es decir, de la intención de trascender la descripción para entrar en la explicación y viceversa; por eso, aparece tan necesaria la posibilidad de acercarse a la estructura de los sistemas y subsistemas culturales a través de las taxonomías y las delimitaciones conceptuales convertidas en instrumentos de comprensión de elementos esenciales. Por último, la interpretación que surge de la re-creación de la realidad -elevada a ficción- que aporta el arte para hacer visible, desde nuestra sociedad, el drama cotidiano de la pobreza, la ignorancia y la desigualdad hechas actos de habla y no sólo eso, también comportamientos y conductas. A su lado, emerge la educación como lente que permite, desde el encuentro de las disciplinas, mirar la reflexión sobre la ciencia y la matemática numérica que viene desde la inestimable Cuba y también el discurrir colombiano sobre la investigación y la tecnología y la aplicación pedagógica. ¿Hasta dónde y cuándo esto es o no coincidencia y necesidad?. Para ello, Entretextos anhela presentar la coherencia entre lo que se dice y lo que se hace, aunque sea o no posible, para lo cual es inequívoco e indispensable el papel del maestro, del docente comprometido con la sabiduría y el ejemplo. 4 ENTRETEXTOS, ENERO A DICIEMBRE DE 2010, NOS. 6 Y 7 Editorial La diversidad: entre inteligencias y modelos a escuela en los contextos inter y multiculturales cobra sentido cuando interpreta la diversidad sociocultural y lingüística desde los procesos pedagógicos; la diversidad de La Guajira, está Lrequiriendo cada vez más una propuesta de diversidad educativa. Como se ha señalado en editoriales anteriores, el sistema educativo departamental está llamado a profundizar en esta consideración y a asumir la reflexión –para la acción– acerca de la necesidad de contar con modelos pedagógicos al servicio de las comunidades educativas en tanto que reflejan las culturas y las lenguas de los miembros de éstas (estudiantes, docentes, padres de familia, …).     Reinterpreting the Global, Rearticulating the Local: Nueva Música Colombiana, Networks, Circulation, and Affect Simón Calle Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY 2012 © 2012 Simón Calle All rights reserved ABSTRACT Reinterpreting the Global, Rearticulating the Local: Nueva Música Colombiana, Networks, Circulation, and Affect Simón Calle This dissertation analyses identity formation through music among contemporary Colombian musicians. The work focuses on the emergence of musical fusions in Bogotá, which participant musicians and Colombian media have called “nueva música Colombiana” (new Colombian music). The term describes the work of bands that assimilate and transform North-American music genres such as jazz, rock, and hip-hop, and blend them with music historically associated with Afro-Colombian communities such as cumbia and currulao, to produce several popular and experimental musical styles. In the last decade, these new fusions have begun circulating outside Bogotá, becoming the distinctive sound of young Colombia domestically and internationally. The dissertation focuses on questions of musical circulation, affect, and taste as a means for articulating difference, working on the self, and generating attachments others and therefore social bonds and communities This dissertation considers musical fusion from an ontological perspective influenced by actor-network, non-representational, and assemblage theory. Such theories consider a fluid social world, which emerges from the web of associations between heterogeneous human and material entities. The dissertation traces the actions, interactions, and mediations between places, people, institutions, and recordings that enable the emergence of new Colombian music. In considering those associations, it places close attention to the affective relationships between people and music.

    #MappingFreedom My thesis is #MappingFreedom - digitally documenting and interactively mapping all of the freedom colonies along the Western colonial pathways, as an effort for preservation, conservation, restoration and edu-tourism. Freedom colonies are the communities of people who immediately resisted Western colonialism, creating their own “safe spaces” to protect themselves from terrorism such as the resulting indigenous genocide, The Atlantic Slave Trade, plantation slavery, Black Codes, Jim Crow and other racialized human rights abuses. These places exist throughout the planet to this day, but because of our history, are endangered, and at risk of being lost due to migration, and other factors such as the failure of urban planning and gentrification to see the value in these sites. For my research I focused on Shankleville in Shankleville, TX - of which I’m a direct descendant of the founders, and keynoted the 150th anniversary celebration in 2017- the Raramuri, called the Tarahumara by the Spanish, and known as “those who run fast” in their native tongue, located in the Copper Canyons of the Sierra Madre mountain range in Northern Mexico, Weeksville, in the Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, and Nicodemus in Nicodemus, Kansas. 1. General information Name of State Party Colombia Date of Ratification 2008-03-19 Question A.1 Executive summary Please provide an executive summary of the report that will allow general readers to understand the overall status of legislative, regulatory and other measures taken at the national level to implement the Convention. This should follow the organizational structure of the form. Colombia adopted the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003) through Law 1037 of 2006, an instrument of ratification accepted by UNESCO in 2008. Since the adoption, Colombia issued Law 1185 of 2008, which introduces intangible cultural heritage into the national legislative framework and creates the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage (LRPCI) at the national level, the main instrument of inventory and registration of intangible cultural heritage in Colombia, as well as establishing the obligation of identification and safeguarding of ICH, under the leadership of the Ministry of Culture. The List is aimed at promoting the construction of Special Safeguarding Plans (PES) for relevant or at-risk elements throughout the country as instruments built in a participatory manner by the communities. The Special Safeguarding Plans contain a broad characterization of the element, diagnosis of its viability and formulation of measures to guarantee its safeguarding, which is updated periodically through a participatory review and monitoring process every 5 years. This mechanisms is regulated by Decree 1080 of 2015, modified and added by Decree 2358 of 2019. Additionally, in 2009, Colombia adopted, in compliance with the mandates of the Convention, the Safeguarding Policy for Intangible Cultural Heritage.

It explores the ways in which free people of African descent interacted with the Hispanic monarchy institutions and how these interactions shaped their conception of their membership in the body politic and constituted themselves as political subjects. I analyze the ways in which these subjects were incorporated to the Monarchy, how they understood, claimed and negotiated this membership, and how, in this process, they forged their own political notions. I pay attention to the different repertoires of actions of free people and analyze the different ways in which they manifested discontent and participated in politics. Chapter 1 offers an overview of the population of free people in eighteenth-century Colombia. Chapters 2, 3, and 4 delve into three different groups of free people, traders, fluvial workers, and urban and rural poor. Chapter 5 explores participation free people of African descent in one of the largest upheavals of the colonial era, the Comunero revolt. I argue that the corporative and jurisdictional nature of the composite Hispanic monarchy had enduring effects on the ways in which free people of African descent imagined and framed their relation to the state. Free vassals of African descent were not allowed a corporate existence as indigenous group.
