“THE GHOST VILLAGE OF SAN SEVERINO AND THE PATH OF THE EPITAPH” Organised by: CAMMINO CILENTO Excursions, trekking, nature walks Marina di Camerota www.camminocilento.it
Starting from Centola station we reach the ancient uninhabited village of San Severino. Crossing the old disused railway from 1880, we walk along the Tragara path. On this path, already beaten in antiquity, we will first reach the Epitaph, an ancient wall overlooking the magnificent Devil's Gorges, then "Castelluccio", the Norman-Swabian castle overlooking the Mingardo river. The descent will take us to the shore of the crystal-clear waters of the river.
Date: from 23 October to 7 November Cost per person: € 15,00 - The participation fee is 15 euros per person which includes the daily excursion led by an Interpretive Nature Guide (Guida Ambientale Escursionistica AIGAE) and insurance coverage. Half price for 7 to 14 year olds Time: APPOINTMENT at Centola station, departure at: 9:00 A.M., return at approximately 16:00 Departure: Borgo di San Severino di Centola Arrival: River Mingardo Return: courtesy passage at Centola station Travel time + stops: about 6 hours
Development: about 11 km Difference in altitude: 700 m Equipment: hiking shoes (mandatory) - sticks (optional). In backpack: packed lunch, clothing layers, 1.5 L of water, hat Difficulty: E (Hike)
>> Notice: This excursion is not suitable for those who are completely out of condition, heart patients, pressure problems, asthmatics, those suffering from vertigo and those who have recently undergone limb surgery.
