Overview

The warm and hospitable owners have created such a beautiful and spacious villa, wonderful for families or friends with its vast enclosed gardens as well as stylish and inviting interiors. Set over three floors, the layout allows a degree of independence on each level alongside ample space to gather together whether it’s sunbathing by the magical infinity-style swimming pool or feasting al-fresco by the summer kitchen with its wood-fired pizza oven and barbecue.

Sip your morning espresso looking out towards the sea from the vine-covered pergola with its bougainvillea and jasmine or head up to the first-floor terrace with sun-loungers and further space to dine as well as even more magnificent landscapes. The top-floor sea-facing balcony is the perfect spot for a glass of chilled wine or appreciate the woodland views from the rear terrace with cork oak trees across much of the estate.

Inside the villa, guests can expect modern style alongside an abundance of Campanian charm with white-washed walls, colourful artwork and great attention to detail. Each of the five bedrooms are so pretty such as the ground floor double with its French windows leading to a shady terrace or the top-floor attic room with it’s picture-perfect view through the arched window. Air- conditioning can be found upstairs whilst the shade of the giant oak, thick stone walls and bedroom ceiling fans keep the ground floor cool on warm summer days.

Set around 56m above sea-level, you can reach the beach in just 800m with its sandy shores and summer lidos. There are shops, bars and restaurants just a little further in this friendly and authentic seaside resort which is especially atmospheric in the summer months. Arrange a private skippered boat for tours of the coastline whether its visiting natural sea caves, the unspoilt beauty of Acquafredda or the beautiful beaches of Maratea with the most incredible sunsets.

Of course, the interior of the Parco Nazionale del Cilento, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, is also waiting to be discovered with its dramatic

Set at the foot of the Parco Nazionale del Cilento in the Salerno province of Campania, Villa Mediterraneo is around 56m above sea-level with wonderful views of the Gulf of Policastro, part of an estate featuring woodland and cork oak trees.

The beach is around 800m away (be mindful that the last part up to the villa, beyond the railway bridge, is very steep so car may be preferable) where you will find sandy shores and summer lidos whilst shops, bars and more restaurants can be found in the local resort, an ancient fishing village, around 2km away. This area is authentically Italian with good restaurants serving regional cuisine made from local produce and there’s an especially lovely and lively ambience in summer months.

This coastline is a joy to explore – why not hire a skippered boat for the day, which can be organised in advance by the owners. Discover a wealth of natural caves as well as beautiful bays including the incredible coast around Acquafredda and Maratea with cliff-backed beaches and picturesque sunsets. There are more idyllic coves en route to , many reached only by boat or the most adventurous hikers.

The nearest town is Sapri, around 5km away, where there are summer ferries (usually from the end of May to mid-September) to the Amalfi coast, the island of Capri and . Spend time in the town itself with its characterful town centre, lively bars and restaurants and beachside promenade.

Then of course there’s the beauty of the interiors of the Parco Nazionale del Cilento, the second largest national park in , featuring rare flora, ancient olive trees, forests of cork oaks and an abundance of wild animals and rare birds. The hilly landscapes provide great walking opportunities – head as far as Monte Cervati, nearly 2000m above sea level, and follow the 2hr hiking trail (partly off-road) to its peak from the village of Sanza.

- Security deposit: €1000 paid in cash to the owner upon arrival and refunded upon departure, subject to full inspection.

- Departure time: 10.00 am

- Energy costs included?: Yes.

- Linen & towels included?: Yes, excluding pool towels.

- Pets welcome?: On request only and with prior agreement with the owner.

- Changeover day: Saturday. All other changeover days on request.

- Smoking Allowed?: No smoking inside the villa

- End of stay cleaning included?: Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.

- Insurance: Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, personal belongings, public liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay

- Tax: Italian Visitors Tax payable locally in cash (typically costs €1-€3 per adult per night- please enquire if exact amount is required).

- Heating costs included?: Extra €300 per week (winter months), payable locally.

- Pool towels included?: Extra €10 per person per week, payable locally.
