he 2013 Scholarship Awards Ceremony was held on August 6 — as part of the third annual Parent/ Child Scholarship Tournament at Mosholu Golf Course. One of Americas premier First Tee golf courses, this was the perfect venue for our members and their children to get out and enjoy playing the game that is such a large part of their parents’ livelihood. Our gracious host, Dave Moffett, who is in his second season at Mosholu, had the course in great shape. And the nine-hole, 2,300-yard 32 course proved to be the perfect setting for kids and adults of all golf­ ing abilities. Nearly 40 participants (parent/child teams) played in a nine-hole shotgun and were divided into two divisions. One divi­ sion was for children 12 and over, the other for kids 12 and under. The tournament was free to members and, by all accounts, was a great success. Of course, the superb weather didn’t hurt!
