Many of the restaurants, cafes and pubs pride themselves in using locally sourced fresh produce and on their friendly service. We are also lucky to have a good range of farm shops and delicatessens in the area where specialist cooked meats and cheeses can be purchased along with local fresh meats, fruit and vegetables. Flour milling still takes place at Heage Windmill and the flour is available for sale during mill opening hours and at the monthly farmers market at Belper.     A38 DERBY JUNCTIONS SCHEME—LITTLE EATON JUNCTION. APPLICATION FOR DEVELOPMENT CONSENT ORDER. WRITTEN REPRESENTATIONS BY BREADSALL PARISH COUNCIL TO THE EXAMINING AUTHORITY Part 1. Selection of the preferred route Breadsall Parish Council believes that the process by which Highways England (HE) and its predecessor the Highways Agency (HA) selected the preferred route for the Little Eaton junction was deeply flawed. As a result, the selection of the preferred route should be completely re-examined before the current Development Consent Order is processed. The selection process for the preferred route is described in Highways England’s own document “A38 Derby Junctions Scheme Assessment Report (PCF Stage 2)” a copy of which is attached. See especially section 5. BPC’s comments below quote paragraph numbers from this report. Much of the same material is contained in the “6.1 Environmental Statement Chapter 3 -Scheme history and assessment of alternatives” submitted by HE as part of the DCO application In highway terms the obvious way to re-design the Little Eaton junction is to route the A38 to the north of the present junction. This is the shortest and most direct route for the A38, and this was indeed the basis for options 1 and 2 originally proposed by the HA in 2002 (See para 5.4.1). In 2003 HA held a public consultation exercise based on revised high-speed versions of options 1 and 2 and a new third option routed to the south of the present junction (See para 5.4.6). In 2004 HA decided “on balance” to support the third option which is the basis of the current scheme.

It identifies the basic actions we must collectively take if we are to protect and enhance the key biodiversity of this region. The UK Government recognises its international obligations and the economic urgency to protect biodiversity and ecosystems. This LBAP is part of that delivery and local reporting mechanism. Only those habitats and species meeting the UKBAP definitions of ‘Priority Habitat’ or ‘Priority Species’ are included in the targets for the Lowland Derbyshire Action Plans.     ALDERWASLEY PARISH COUNCIL Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council held on Tuesday 18 July 2017 in St Margaret’s Hall, Alderwasley Present: Mrs H Wordley in the Chair, Mr K MacArthur, Mr K Matkin, Cllr Taylor and Clerk 12/17 Apologies for Absence Apologies were received and accepted from Mr D Deaville (illness), Mrs R Spendlove (holiday) and Mr H Oulton (holiday) 13/17 Declarations of Members’ Interests Councillor Wordley declared a personal interest in minute number 17/17(e) as the application was on land adjacent to her own land 14/17 Public Speaking Councillor Taylor reported that he had been informed that bases were being installed at Haytop Caravan Park and the enforcement Officer would react when the structures were erected. He said that AVBC are still in pursuit of the court case with the owners of Haytop regarding the recent breach of the injunction. He said that there had been some installations of containers and caravans on land at Palerow Lane and thought the area came inside the Parish boundary. Members asked him to get confirmation that this area was in the Parish 15/17 Minutes of the meeting held on 16 May 2017 RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the meeting held on 16 May 2017 and they were signed by the Chair as a true record. 16/17 Clerk’s report (a) Cemetery inspection – The annual inspection was carried prior to the meeting. RESOLVED to ask Mr Hodson to close trim the ivy on the wall next to the Holly hedge with a hedge trimmer and for Councillor Matkin to weed kill the path and the top end of the wall (b) Cemetery – (i) Review of the rules – RESOLVED to make no amendments (ii) Fees – RESOLVED to make no increases (c) Public speaking policy – Members considered the draft policy.
