I thought that this was going to be a history of different hats that this designer has done, instead this was more of a biography of this designer. That was my bad. I did enjoy the book, I had myself a laugh on the different hats. Who would ever thought that women would go around with those things on their heads. Some were classy most were just really gaudy and quite ugly. I guess that I just wanted I didn't love this book or hate it. I guess that I just wanted more out of this book. Paulette's understanding of the human form and the human personality as well as straw, fabrics, feathers, net, and jewels is what lead her to become so incredibly successful, her works gracing the head of British and Egyptian royalty as well as Rita Hayworth, Gloria Swanson, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Grace Kelly, Eva Peron, and Rose Kennedy.
