Sunday Pentecost The Bishop: Pray for Archbishop Michael and for his oversight of the 31 May Diocese and the Province. Kuwait: The Anglican Church in Kuwait, St Paul’s, has three - English, Urdu and Mandarin - congregations. There are three English worship services in a week and two of them are held at Ahmadi on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The Centre hosts nineteen other congregations. Friday The future is uncertain. We pray for our parishioners to remain positive, committed, and 5 dedicated amidst current challenges. Saturday Heavenly Father, we are delighted to experience your love. Give us hope and trust in you 6 amid challenges we encounter as a parish. Inspire your people to be thankful to you for all your grace and divine protection. Continue to bless the goodwill we receive from the State of Kuwait and other stakeholders and bring more people to our fellowship. Amen. Sunday Trinity Sunday Those being confirmed: Pray for all considering or preparing for 7 June Confirmation, that the Spirit will guide them. Limassol – St Barnabas: Limassol is the principal port of Cyprus and a vibrant cosmopolitan city. Pissouri is a village with significant tourism and many second homes. We have wealth and poverty around us and among us. British military bases are nearby. We serve British expats and other English speakers from a fascinating variety of nations, countries and cultures. Monday We praise God for our faithfulness and continuance in prayer and worship in recent difficult 8 times and for the deepening of our solidarity and Christian fellowship. We pray that our parish vision will guide us in coming months as we seek a new priest to lead us forward in mission: Glorify God, Open doors, Share faith, Proclaim Jesus, Encourage all, Love others. Tuesday We celebrate the rich diversity of these churches, the gifts of young and old, the spectrum of 9 cultures, nationalities and traditions. We rejoice in our rich fellowship and social life, and in opportunities to learn together and deepen our spirituality. Wednesday We pray for openness to God and for alertness to needs around us. We pray for a renewal of 10 our ministry and outreach to children, young people and families. We pray for the Missions to Seafarers based at Limassol port. Thursday We intercede for all who struggle in this city and its environs, including the homeless and refugee, 11 the bereaved and lonely, the stressed and the seeking. We pray for deep healing of the wounds, spiritual and emotional, that recent months have brought. Friday Recalling that Acts 15:26 describes Barnabas as one who ‘risked his life for the name of our 12 Lord Jesus Christ’, we pray for courage, steadfastness and imagination as we move forward under God. Saturday Father God, unlock the gifts you have placed within us, release fresh ministries and hidden 13 talents, deepen our apostolic charism of bringing the encouragement of Jesus to all we meet, for the sake of your Kingdom, Amen. Sunday Trinity 1 The Archdeacon in Cyprus: Pray for Archdeacon Christopher and for 14 June justice, compassion, and peace across the island. Al Ain: St Thomas Church is supported by St Andrew's, Abu Dhabi. We currently worship at a golf club, but have been gifted land by the ruling family to build on. We are from many backgrounds and nations, but we are united in our desire to see Christ lifted up amongst us and to help more people experience the joy of knowing Jesus. Monday St Thomas has a friendly atmosphere. After the services, people share fellowship and are 22 usually not in a rush to go home. We are especially blessed with a varied and gifted music group who lead the congregation in musical worship each week. Tuesday We are thankful that we have been able to worship in the Golf Club for the last 8 years, but are 23 excited at the prospect of worshipping in our own building soon. We have a growing ministry towards the low paid migrant workers in Al Ain. Wednesday St Thomas is progressing with its building project. The next few months should see the project 24 move towards the construction phase. We pray for continued blessings on this project. Thursday Our congregation is made up mostly of teachers and health professionals. Long working hours 25 can mean that people become inconsistent in church attendance. Pray that the services may always be a place of spiritual refreshment, so that people do therefore make it a priority to attend. Friday As we move forward with our New Build we are keen to ensure that we retain all that is good 26 with St Thomas and that we continue to be a nurturing, friendly, welcoming church, where people of all ages find a spiritual home and experience the love of God. Saturday Council: May they be given wisdom to lead the church forward. Community: May we experience 27 the joy and peace of knowing Jesus amongst us. Nicosia: At St Paul’s Cathedral we welcome all those who come through our doors -- as worshippers and pilgrims, as visitors and sightseers, in prayer and in communion -- whether local to Nicosia, visiting us from elsewhere in Cyprus or coming from overseas from anywhere in the whole world. Monday God our Father in heaven, we thank you for the care of the congregation during a challenging time. 29 For the pastoral care, love and support to one another – especially those sick or without money, and food. We pray for our young people. In the power of the Holy Spirit may the seed of the Gospel be planted in their hearts and may they always love and worship you. We pray that we may face the financial challenges presented to us. That 2 we may continue to give with a generous heart in response to the generosity of God. We pray for those who have lost everything, that even in their darkness they may feel your light. Friday We pray for the struggles that many face in Nicosia, those sleeping rough in the parks, those camping 3 in Refugee Centres; those arriving from foreign shores; those who for whatever reason are finding life very difficult. We give thanks that the Cathedral can be a place of peace and help.
