Ümit Hacıoğlu is an assistant professor of Finance at , Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Istanbul, . Dr. Hacıoğlu has BAs in Business Administration and Inter- national Relations (2002). He received PhD in Finance and Banking with his thesis entitled “Effects of Conflict on Equity Performance.” Finance and banking, strategic management, and international po- litical economy are the main pillars of his interdisciplinary studies. Hasan Dinçer is an assistant professor of finance at Beykent University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Istanbul, Turkey. Dr. Dinçer has BAs in Financial Markets and Investment Management at . He received PhD in Finance and Banking with his thesis entitled “The Effect of Changes on the Competitive Strategies of New Service Development in the Banking Sec- tor.” He has work experience in the finance sector as portfolio specialist, and his major academic studies focus on financial instruments, performance evaluation, and economics. Ulas Akkucuk is an Associate Professor of Quantitative Methods at Bogazici University Depart- ment of Management, Istanbul-Turkey. Dr. Akkucuk has a BS in Industrial Engineering from (1997), an MBA from Bogazici University (2000), and a PhD in Management Science and Information Systems from Rutgers University (2004). His research interests lie in the methodological development of multivariate techniques such as Clustering and Multidimensional Scaling and novel applications into fields including global competitiveness, CRM, and technology management. He has taught Statistics, CRM & Data Mining, and Global Marketing Research courses, among others, at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Benjamin Chijioke Asogwa is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics, College of Agricultural Economics and Extension, University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria. Dr. Asogwa has B.Agric in Agricultural Economics and Extension (First Class Hons) and M.Sc in Agricultural Econom- ics. He obtained his PhD degree in Agricultural Economics. He is the author of several articles published in reputed international journals and international conference proceedings. His special research interest include: production economics, agricultural marketing, farm management, agribusiness, agricultural policy, and development economics. He is currently the College Examination Officer, College of Agri- cultural Economics and Extension, University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria.

Peter Iornum Ater holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Agricultural Economics. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics at University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. Dr. Ater received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Agricultural Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria and Doctoral degree in Agricultural Economics from Univer- sity of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria. His research interests are in the areas of production economics, project monitoring and evaluation, farm management and agribusiness. Dr. Ater’s primary responsibility is teaching and research. He has therefore taught undergraduate and postgraduate students and carried out several researches, an activity he enjoys very much. Dr. Ater has taught Production Economics and other related subjects in some other disciplines. Dr. Ater has published many research papers and books in both local and international research outlets. He has authored several articles published in reputed local and international journals and conference proceedings. He has also consulted for a number of local and international organizations, UNDP inclusive. Dr Ater was the Director of Project Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of the Benue State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (BNARDA) for several years. Currently, he is the Head of Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. He loves listening to Christian music, reading current affairs, watching football, etc. He is happily married with children.

Aysha Karamat Baig is an independent researcher. She has earned her Ms (Marketing) from Riphah International University, and prior to that, she did BBA from GC University Faisalabad, Pakistan. She has been involved in teaching at Riphah International University – Faisalabad for some time. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus.

Uzma Karamat Baig is a researcher. She is recently doing her MBA from GC University Faisalabad, and prior to that, she completed her BSc from Punjab University Lahore, Pakistan.

Nursel Bolat graduated from Radio-Television and Cinema Department of . She completed her MA at Kocaeli University Social Sciences Institute. She worked as an assistant director at STV channel and worked as a lecturer at Kocaeli University. She has been working as a lecturer at Istanbul Arel University since 2010. She published her book Medyada Milliyetçilik ve Şiddet “Medyada Milliyetçilik ve Ötekinin Yaratılması: Mc Carthy Döneminde Amerikan Milliyetçiliğinin Hollywood’a Yansıması ve Türkiye’yi Etkileme Süreci.” Her article, “Visual Discourse of the Clove: An Analysis on the Ottoman Tile Decoration Art,” appeared in International Journal of Research in Business and Social Science, and she has presented her works of “Gelişim Süreci İçinde: Televizyonun Çocuklar Üzerindeki Etkileri,” “Mitoloji ve Sinema: Türk Sinemasında Kadın Oyuncu Rol Maskeleri,” “Mizah ve İkna: Televizyon Reklamlarında İkna Aracı Olarak Mizah” both in national and international workshops.

Nevin Ozgur Cambaz is currently an instructor of English at the School of Foreign Languages, Celal Bayar University, Manisa, Turkey. She studied Foreign Language Education at METU, Ankara, and has a degree of MA in Translation Studies at Dokuz Eylül University. The main focus of her thesis was a pragmatic analysis on certain translated works. She previously taught English to young learners at a private school in İzmir. Her main interests are language teaching, literature, and translation studies.

Hilal Çelik is an assistant professor of Business Administration at Beykent University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Istanbul, Turkey. Dr. Hilal Çelik graduated from university with a first graduate degree of Bachelor’s in 2004. She received PhD in Department of Business Manage- ment and Organization at Faculty of Business Administration in (2011). Her thesis was entitled “Information Technologies’ Effects on Organizational Performance at Higher Education Institutions.” The main pillars of her interdisciplinary studies are strategic management, information technologies, organizational performance, competitiveness, and service quality.

İsmail Erkan Çelik is an assistant professor of Finance at Beykent University. He received PhD in Finance and Banking with his thesis entitled “The Role of Investment Banks in Development.” He is the editor of International Journal of Finance and Banking Studies (IJFBS) and International Journal of Research in Business and Social Science.

Solaiman Chowdhury is involved in teaching and research at the Department of Management Stud- ies, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He received MBA (Management) in 2005. Mr. Chowdhury is the author of one book and has published research papers in international journals. His research interest lies in the area of CSR, entrepreneurship development, and innovation management.

Dilaysu Çınar is lecturer at Beykent University, teaching international marketing, total quality man- agement, and introduction to business at Vocational Studies. She has an MBA degree and completed her thesis entitled “Technical Analysis Methods for Stock Market: An Application on ISE.”

Ramesh Chandra Das has done Masters degree in Economics at Calcutta University. He has obtained the M. Phil degree from the same university. He has also obtained Ph.D award from the University of Calcutta on the aspects of allocation of commercial bank credit in Indian states. He is presently teach- ing economics at Katwa College, West Bengal, India, for about fourteen years and designated Associate Professor in the department. He has carried out several research projects in the field of banking. He has made several publications in different areas of environmental economics and the economics of banking and finance, governance, etc., including a book on Microeconomics. He has been one of the honorable members in the international editorial board of the Society for the Study in Banking and Finance (SSB- FNET) and acting as editor-in-chief of Asian Journal of Research in Business Economics and Manage- ment published by Asian Research consortium, India.

William R. DiPietro is professor of economics in the Business Administration Department at Daemen College and holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. DiPietro has written extensively on a variety of topics in economics, business, and the social sciences, and has over 80 professional journal publications to his credit. His articles appear in journals housed in countries

E. M. Ekanayake earned his Ph.D. in Economics at Florida International University, Miami, Florida, USA, in 1996. He is an Associate Professor of Economics at the School of Business, Bethune-Cookman University, Daytona Beach, FL, USA. He taught both graduate and undergraduate level courses in Sta- tistics, Quantitative Methods, Business Calculus, Mathematics, Econometrics, Mathematical Econom- ics, Engineering Economics, and International Economics. Dr. Ekanayake has numerous publications in the areas of international trade and finance, foreign direct investment, and economic growth. He has published nearly 50 journal articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, few book chapters, and more than 30 conference proceedings. He is on the editorial board of The International Journal of Business and Finance Research and serves as a reviewer for several academic journals.

Jacqueline Adaku Ezihe holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Agricultural Economics. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. Ezihe received her B.Sc., M.Sc., and Doctoral degrees in Agricultural Economics from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria. Her research interests are in the areas of Resource and Environmental Economics, Project Analysis and Agrimarketing. Ezihe’s primary responsibility is teaching and research. Pinar Altiok Gurel is an assistant professor at Beykent University, Istanbul, Turkey. Her undergradu- ate degree is in finance from Istanbul University, the School of Economics, 1989. Her post-graduate degree is in finance from Istanbul University, The School of Economics, 1991. In addition, her Doctorate degree is in finance from Istanbul University, The School of Economics, 2003. Munir Hassan received his M.B.A. in Finance with distinction and Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the United States of America (USA). His area of specialty is Corporate Finance, International Finance, and Banking. For the past two decades, he has taught a wide range of courses in

Finance and Economics at several American Universities. Dr. Hassan also taught as a visiting Interna- tional faculty at North South University, Daffodil International University, Bangladesh, Gulf University of Science and Technology (GUST), and Kuwait University, Kuwait, as well as South Dakota State University, University of South Dakota, Gustavus Adolphus College, Truman State University, Fort Hays State University, Southwestern College, Claflin University, Park University in USA. His teach- ing philosophy and pedagogical skills have earned him several awards as an “Outstanding and Best” Professor of the year in 2006. He has been working as an MBA Director, Finance Program Coordinator, Chairman of the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting in different academic institutions in USA. His last appointment was Chairman of the Division of Business Administration and Professor of Finance at Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. At present time he has been ap- pointed as a full professor of Finance at Kuwait-Maastricht Business School (affiliated with Maastricht School of Management, The Netherlands). His active involvement at professional meetings resulted in numerous presentations, publication of a book, and several paper publications in reputable journals in USA and abroad. His ongoing research continues in the field of International Finance and his produc- tive scholarship is further integrated into his coursework. He has been appointed as a consultant by the College Board and ETS (Education Testing Services, Princeton, New Jersey, USA). He has served both as a teaching faculty member and as an administrator in different educational institutions. As an administrator, he has played a major role in developing academic curriculum for finance majors and developing a full-fledged Master in Business Education Program. Dr. Hassan’s service to his profession, department, institution, and community continues to be extensive. Marwa Hassaan is currently a lecturer in the Accounting Department at Mansoura Business School. She holds a PhD in accounting from Aston University, and MSc in Financial Accounting and BSc in Accounting from Mansoura University. Dr. Hassaan is a fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, an editorial board member and a reviewer in the International Journal for Research in Business and Social Science (IJRBS) and has 12 years of teaching experience in higher education in the UK and in the Middle East. Marwa participated as an editor or author in a number of international publications. She has been awarded the ARE Prime Minister’s excellence award in 1999, Mansoura University’s excellence award in 1999, and Mansoura Governorate award for distinction in 2000. She is a member of the Brit- ish Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and of Beta Gamma Sigma Honour Society. Marwa successfully completed many training courses at Nottingham University, Birmingham University and Aston University, which include Experimental Design, Structural Equation Modeling, IFRSs Updates, Consultancy, and Aston Certificate for Teaching in Higher Education. Marwa teaches various courses in Financial Accounting, International Accounting, Management Accounting, and Auditing. Her research covers the governance and financial reporting practices. Other interests include compliance with IFRSs and other international best practices in emerging stock exchanges particularly in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Osarumwense Iguisi is a professor of Cross-Culture Management and the Executive Director of Euro-African Capacity Development Centre, Essex, UK. Osarumwense Iguisi holds a Higher Diploma in Construction Technology, Master’s degree in General Management with emphasis on Cross-Cultural Management and a Doctorate degree in Management with research focused on Cultural Dynamics in

Elżbieta Janczyk-Strzała is an assistant professor of finance at Wroclaw School of Banking in Wroclaw, Faculty Finance and Management, Wroclaw, Poland. Ebru Nergiz is an assistant professor of foreign trade at Beykent University, Vocational School of Higher Education, Istanbul, Turkey. She has a Masters degree from Bournemouth University, UK, in Interna- tional Business Administration (2002). Mehmet Akif Öncü is an assistant professor of finance at Düzce University, Faculty of Business, Düzce, Turkey. Dr. Öncü has BAs in Business Administration (1993). He received PhD in Finance and Banking with his thesis entitled “Effects of Conflict on Equity Performance.” Tourism finance, tourism accounting, and business finance are the main interest areas of his interdisciplinary studies.

Simon T. Penda is a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and is former Head, De- partment of Agribusiness, University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria. He obtained his PhD degree in Agricultural Economics. He is the author of several articles published in reputed international journals.

James Atta Peprah is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He holds MPhil in Economics and Bilingual MBA (Banking and Finance). His areas of research include development economics, financial market and institution in developing countries, microfinance, growth and development as well as small scale enterprise studies. James has a number of publications that focus on SMEs, microfinance, and poverty in Ghana. He is currently writing his PhD thesis on the topic, “Income and Non-Income Outcomes of Microfinance in Ghana.” He is also a mem- ber of the Ghana National Microfinance Forum. Professionally, James is a partly qualified accountant.

Golam Rabbani (MSS, MPPG) is currently teaching at the Department of Public Administration, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. His main research interests include social policy (health, education and social protection), governance (central and local governance, and governance issues of NGOs), social and policy issues of environment and climate change, seasonal poverty, monitoring and evaluation, and early childhood development. He is the author of two books, and a number of research articles and book chapters that have come out in different international journals and edited books having international reputation.

Upinder Sawhney is the senior most professor in the Dept. of Economics at Panjab University, Chandigarh. She has a teaching and research experience of nearly 30 years. Her areas of research include public policy issues of the Indian economy including service sector development, urban issues, fiscal issues, etc. She has done considerable work on the economy of Indian Punjab. She has been on the ad- visory and consultancy bodies of various government departments as well as industry associations. She writes regularly for professional journals as well as popular press.

Engin Sorhun is an assistant professor of international economics at Dogus University, Istanbul, Turkey, and at University of Strasbourg, Bureau of Theoretical and Applied Economics, Strasbourg, France. Mr. Sorhun has BAs in Transition Economics from Sorbonne University Paris I (2003). He received PhD in International Economic with his thesis entitled “Integration of Turkey to the EU in the Light of Three-Regularity of Geographical Economics.” Dr. Sorhun is preparing a postdoctoral thesis entitled “Turkey between Potential and Reality: Are the Arab World and the Shanghai Fives Alternative to the Integration with the EU?” Economic integration, geographical economics, international political economy are the main pillars of his interdisciplinary studies. Nasim Sydee is an Economist currently working at the Labour Program of the Federal Government of Canada. Dr. Sydee taught Economics at Carleton University in Ottawa for almost 7 years until he joined the Government in 2010. He received his MA and PhD in Economics from Carleton University. His research interests include access pricing, applied micro, monetary economics, and time series analysis.

Yunus Emre Taşgit is a lecturer of Tourism and Hotel Management at Düzce University, Akçakoca Vocational School, Düzce, Turkey. Taşgit has BAs in Tourism and Hotel Management with his thesis entitled “Competitive Strategies applied in the Airline Travel Companies: A Qualitative Research towards Turkish Companies.” Taşgit is currently a PhD student at Gebze High Technology Institute, Depart- ment of Management and Organization. Strategic management, competition, business environment, organizational strategies in hospitality industry are the main interest areas his interdisciplinary studies.

Nurdan Oncel Taskiran has been working for Kocaeli University, Kocaeli, Faculty of Communi- cation, Radio Cinema and Television Department since 2001. She has been an Associate Professor in Applied Communication Sciences since 2007 December. She has written two books, one of which is on media literacy researches in Turkey, and the other, which proposes some scriptwriting methodologies for television serials, is titled “Aliye: The New Image of Contemporary Female Minds.” Her researches are primarily on popular culture products and media literacy. She also has researches on Semiology as a means of communication and advertising communication and decoding visual arts via Iconography. She is interested in distance learning as well, as a way of communication related with semiotics, as a part of human perception and signification. She has a keen interest on animal communication. She has papers, articles, and translations published in national and international journals. She has been giving courses on graduate and post graduate levels at Kocaeli University.

Kerem Toker is a lecturer of logistics at Beykent University, School of Vocational Studies Istanbul, Turkey. Toker received a BSc degree in Business Management from , Turkey (2005). He received MSc degree in Business Management and Organization from Trakya University in 2007. He studies on his PhD thesis about Supply Chain Integration at Istanbul University since 2010. Gazi Salah Uddin is a PhD Candidate in Applied Financial Economics, Department of Management and Engineering, Linköping University, Sweden. He has received a post-graduate (Master’s) degree in Finance from the University of Skövde, Sweden. He has received his MSS and BSS (Hons.) degrees in Economics from the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. Joseph C. Umeh is a Professor of Agricultural Economics and Dean, College of Agricultural Eco- nomics and Extension, University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria. He obtained his PhD degree in Agricultural Economics. He is the author of several articles published in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. He is a member of different international working groups.

Sani Madi Yakubu is a postgraduate student in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Univer- sity of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria.

Nurten Yilmaz is currently a teacher at Ministiry of Education, Istanbul, Turkey. She studied Guidance and Psychological Counseling at Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir, and has a degree of MA in Education Management at Hasan Kalyoncu University. The main focus of her thesis was the perception of female managers as leaders. She is currently working in Haci Ilbey Primary Schools. Her main interests are leadership, business administration and analytical psychology.

Recep Yilmaz is a lecturer in Vocational High School of Beykent University, Istanbul, Turkey. He is a graduate of PR and Publicity Department of Konya Selcuk University and got his MA degree from Journalism in Kocaeli University with his thesis titled “Illocutionary Impacts of the Newspapers in Construction of Social Reality” in 2008 and now has been studying for his doctoral thesis in Com- munication Sciences at Kocaeli University. His studies are primarily on communication philosophy, advertising communication, public journalism, visual culture, and discourse analysis methodologies. He has given courses on Decoding Advertisements, Advertising Language, Discourse Analysis, Media and Media Strategies, Scriptwriting for Advertising and Film Production, Public Relations, Scriptwriting for Public Relations, Photography and Basic Optics, Visual Graphic Design, and Visual Communication Applications. He aims to bring up fellows to be employed in communication related fields.
