Nakon dva desetljeća pro- vedbe niza radionica, predavanja, treninga i seminara o zelenim temama, dobili smo priliku za nove izazove. Nastavili smo razvijati dosadašnja partnerstva s pojedinim školama, profe- sorima, malim poljoprivrednicima, dok smo stekli brojne nove suradnike i partnere koji su doprinijeli razvoju naših kapaciteta za provedbu metoda i aktivnosti globalnog obrazovanja. Ovom prilikom zahvaljujemo se svim učiteljima, nastavnicima, profesorima, ravnateljima, stručnim suradnicima, učenicima i njihovim roditeljima te nenastavnom kadru škola na su- radnji i iznimnom doprinosu u provedbi niza projektnih aktivnosti za učenike i učitelje, testi- ranju nastavnih priprema, pružanju povratnih informacija, dijeljenju iskustva, znanja i vještina na osnovi kojih su i osmišljene nastavne pripreme globalnog obrazovanja koje su dijelom priručnika, ali i onih koji se nalaze na mrežnoj stranici projekta zajedno s brojnim drugim rezultatima projekta, korisnim edukativnim materijalima i alatima za provedbu globalnog obrazovanja s učenicima. Projekt je započet 2015. (Europska godina razvoja) kako bi se unaprijedilo kritičko razumi- jevanje učenika i nastavnika te njihovo aktivno uključivanje u izazove vezane uz globalni razvoj. Naglasak je pritom na održivim prehrambenim sustavima i malim poljoprivrednim gospodarstvima. Partneri koji sudjeluju u provedbi projekta, uključujući nevladine organizacije i organizaci- je civilnog društva, udruženja lokalnih vlasti i veće zaklade, radili su s mladim Europljani- ma, kao i sa stručnjacima za obrazovanje i obrazovnim ustanovama promičući u sustavu formalnog obrazovanja usvajanje iskustvenog globalnog obrazovanja, u kojem je učenje usmjereno na učenika. Naglasak je bio na konkretnim praksama i modelima koji doprinose održivom razvoju, a cilj je bio postavljanje multidisciplinarnih putova globalnog obrazovanja kako bi se oni mogli integrirati u europske osnovne i srednje škole. To je uključivalo radionice za učenike, podučavanje nastavnika, razmjene na europskoj i internacionalnoj razini, školska natjecanja i nagrade, školske javne akcije u lokalnim zajednicama, zatim javne izložbe, ure- đivanje školskih vrtova, educiranje o društvenim mrežama i internetskim alatima, inicijative za uključivanje zajednice i razvoj edukativnih aplikacija. U srži procesa našlo se više od 2500 nastavnika koji su bili uključeni u prve dvije godine provedbe projekta, a više od 1500 njih sudjelovalo je u zajedničkom promišljanju o novim globalnim problemima i vještinama globalnih građana koje bi se mogle uključiti u njihov nastavni program te o obnavljanju postojećih i uvođenju novih obrazovnih alata kojima bi se to postiglo. U konačnici su svi ti napori i promišljanja rezultirali prikupljanjem, obnavljanjem, prilagođavanjem, testiranjem i ponovnim razvojem niza nastavnih jedinica o globalnom 8 obrazovanju, uključujući raznolike teme, probleme i pristupe. Pritom su zamišljene kao novi, multidisciplinarni, prilagodljivi instrumenti za obrazovanje za globalno građanstvo s nagla- skom na problematiku vezanu uz hranu. Ovaj priručnik uključuje tek mali izbor iz bogatog i heterogenog niza alata razvijenih na naci- onalnoj i europskoj razini i proizašlih iz projektnog partnerstva. Dodatni materijali i informacije o projektu EAThink2015 mogu se pronaći na www.eathink2015.org i web stranici udruge Žmergo www.zmergo.hr.. Metode EAThink: kako odgajati aktivne građane pomoću modula globalnog obrazovanja Cilj je ovog priručnika pružiti podršku nastavnicima u osnovnim i srednjim školama u uklju- čivanju metoda globalnog obrazovanja i problematike vezane uz hranu u njihovo svakod- nevno planiranje nastave. Priručnik je pritom inspiriran iskustvima i idejama njihovih kolega u četrnaest zemalja. Naredne stranice rezultat su dvogodišnjeg procesa osmišljavanja participatornog obrazo- vanja, pri čemu su pilot-prijedlozi obogaćeni idejama, povratnim informacijama i inovacija- ma nastavnika. Premda je fokus na formalnom obrazovanju, rezultat se može koristiti kao alat za razvijanje novih obrazovnih modula a aktivnosti se mogu prilagoditi različitim dobnim skupinama, temama i kontekstima: priručnik može biti i od neprocjenjive

Despite its size and marketing savvy, the company has faced a barrage of competition from new companies in the Middle East and some parts of Europe. These companies have tried to create a niche for themselves by tapping into the anti-U.S. sentiment that prevails among a section of population in these markets. THE COCA-COLA COMPANY ith sales and operations in over 200 countries, The Coca-Cola Company is the worlds’ largest producer and marketer of nonalcoholic beverage concentrates in the world. While Coca-Cola W beverages have been sold in the United States since 1886, the company has made significant advances in its global reach and dominance in the last few decades. Of the roughly 50 billion beverage servings consumed worldwide on any given day. The Coca-Cola Company serves 1.3 billion of those servings. In terms of worldwide sales of nonalcoholic beverages, the company claimed a 10% market share in 2004, while employing approximately 50,000 people. As of 2004, the company divided its global operations into six segments or “operating groups”: • North America • Africa • Asia • Europe, Eurasia and Middle East • Latin America • Corporate The relative size and contributions of these segments are given in Table 1.

    Muslim Women’s Pilgrimage to Mecca and Beyond This book investigates female Muslims pilgrimage practices and how these relate to women’s mobility, social relations, identities, and the power struc- tures that shape women’s lives. Bringing together scholars from different disciplines and regional expertise, it offers in-depth investigation of the gendered dimensions of Muslim pilgrimage and the life-worlds of female pilgrims. An- nual consumption of beverages in Iran is 48 LPCY (Lit per capita per year) that is equal to 144 bottles per capita in year and is relatively a high rate. Taking this into consideration, the present study was planned to determine the pH and fluoride content of beverages consumed in Kerman, south east of Iran. Methods: In a descriptive cross-sectional study during 2006-2007, samples of any type of beverages in Kerman were taken once every 4 months and each sample was examined for its acidity and fluoride content in ambient and refrigerator temperatures. A total of 744 experiments were conducted on 62 brands of beverages with different colors to determine the acidity and on 31 brands of beverages to determine their fluoride content. Acidity was determined by pH-meter in the ambient temperature and refrigerator temperature (+4◦ C). Fluoride content was determined using specific electrode method. Data analysis was done by SPSS software package. Results: Mean acidity of the consumed beverages in Kerman was 2.55 and 2.78 mg/L in the ambient temperature and refrigerator temperature, respectively.

Some of the countries that Coca­Cola has been active in are China, Colombia, South Korea, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. The Coca­Cola Foundation has given a significant amount of money to meet the needs of these countries and also a number of other countries. Some of the ways Coca­Cola serves these countries is by providing water, education, and disaster relief. Coca­Cola has a very positive presence in most every country it is current in. Because there are only two countries that the Coca­Cola brand does not reside, it is our desire to target one of those countries so that we can provide a great product but also so that we can invest into their culture. Potential in target country: With Cuba and North Korea being the only countries that do not sell Coca­Cola and with the new Cuban relations with the United States, we plan on entering Coca­Cola in the Cuban market. I look back now with melancholy at the time while completing the manuscript of my popular study of the Coca-Cola Company’s merchandising history – “The Illustrated Guide to the Collectibles of Cola” (Hawthorn Books, NY). – I consciously did not include a chapter on Coca- Cola cans. Why? I didn’t think that collectors would be interested in “rusty, old tin cans.” I overlooked the entire category except for a few of the early cone-top models and didn’t take into account the successful introduction of aluminum cans and bottles as attractive and long-lasting beverage containers. This article doesn’t make any such mistake; it glorifies a whole, relatively new, category of collectible containers, thus giving collectors the head-start information needed to begin a collection of energy drink cans and bottles. Thanks to eBay and other sources, the current beverages and even those products that didn’t make it in the fast- paced energy drink market, are still available.
