115 the Position of Politics in the Metamorphosis of Persian Poetry
The position of politics in the metamorphosis of Persian poetry and literature is the main subject of this research. In this study, politics is considered as a general term. Biographies and the history of literature each from their own view express the reasons for the growth and decline of Persian language and literature. This study aims to prove what is said so far about the causes of change and metamorphosis of Persian poetry and literature is a mere cause but can be considered as one of the reasons for the metamorphosis of poetry style. The authors of this article believe that the political, social, religious, cultural, economic, historical, regional and environmental factors and other reasons have affected the metamorphosis of Persian poetry and literature. The authors consider the results of the past review of Persian literature as a necessity to draw a future map and to encourage the scholars and thinkers for innovative, attractive, creative and compatible planning with the new conditions of the today world. Considering the cyberspace and social networks is another point in this study which emphasized the importance of applying these kinds of inclusive technologies in Persian language and literature promotion. -
On the Modern Politicization of the Persian Poet Nezami Ganjavi
Official Digitized Version by Victoria Arakelova; with errata fixed from the print edition ON THE MODERN POLITICIZATION OF THE PERSIAN POET NEZAMI GANJAVI YEREVAN SERIES FOR ORIENTAL STUDIES Edited by Garnik S. Asatrian Vol.1 SIAVASH LORNEJAD ALI DOOSTZADEH ON THE MODERN POLITICIZATION OF THE PERSIAN POET NEZAMI GANJAVI Caucasian Centre for Iranian Studies Yerevan 2012 Siavash Lornejad, Ali Doostzadeh On the Modern Politicization of the Persian Poet Nezami Ganjavi Guest Editor of the Volume Victoria Arakelova The monograph examines several anachronisms, misinterpretations and outright distortions related to the great Persian poet Nezami Ganjavi, that have been introduced since the USSR campaign for Nezami‖s 800th anniversary in the 1930s and 1940s. The authors of the monograph provide a critical analysis of both the arguments and terms put forward primarily by Soviet Oriental school, and those introduced in modern nationalistic writings, which misrepresent the background and cultural heritage of Nezami. Outright forgeries, including those about an alleged Turkish Divan by Nezami Ganjavi and falsified verses first published in Azerbaijan SSR, which have found their way into Persian publications, are also in the focus of the authors‖ attention. An important contribution of the book is that it highlights three rare and previously neglected historical sources with regards to the population of Arran and Azerbaijan, which provide information on the social conditions and ethnography of the urban Iranian Muslim population of the area and are indispensable for serious study of the Persian literature and Iranian culture of the period. ISBN 978-99930-69-74-4 The first print of the book was published by the Caucasian Centre for Iranian Studies in 2012. -

©2012 Sima Daad Medieval Persian Texts and Modern Contexts: Mohammad Qazvini and the Modern Reception of Chahār Maqāle (The Four Discourses) Sima Daad A dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy University of Washington 2012 Reading Committee: Leroy Searle, Chair Ahmad Karimi-Hakkak Raimonda Modiano William Streitberger Program authorized to offer the degree: Comparative Literature – Textual Studies University of Washington Abstract Medieval Persian Texts and Modern Contexts: Mohammad Qazvini and the Modern Reception of Chahār Maqāle (The Four Discourses) Sima Daad Chair of the Supervisory Committee: Professor Leroy F. Searle Department of English and Comparative Literature This five-chapter dissertation engages two conventionally separated fields— Modern Perso-Islamic textual criticism inaugurated by Mohammed Qazvini in the context of early 20th –century Iran and Orientalist scholarship, and post-modernist literary theory—to examine the significance of Chahār Maqāle for the intellectual discourse of modernity in Iran. Modern Textual Criticism applies its scientific philological research to the historical restoration of texts, ordinarily in a systematic method of excavation, documentation and establishment of the textual history, removal of non-authorial interpolations, avoidance of personal influence, and restoration of an original-authorial text. Post-modernist literary theory provides analytical tools for reading texts and editions within their respective milieux as historical products capable of trans-historical continuity. In particular this dissertation argues that the original and the reproduced versions of the text each reveals nuances of a particular historical moment that are not directly retrievable from antiquity, yet both versions share a continuing concern for recovering elements of Iranian identity, frequently obscured by the effects of a long history of Islamization. -

Asian Culture and History; Vol. 5, No. 2; 2013 ISSN 1916-9655 E-ISSN 1916-9663 Published by Canadian Center of Science and Education The Religion of the Kara Koyunlu Dynasty: An Analysis Seyyed Masoud Shahmoradi1, Mostafa Pir Moradian1 & Asghar Montazerolghaem1 1 History Department, University of Isfahan, Isfahan, Iran Correspondence: Seyyed Masoud Shahmoradi, History Department, University of Isfahan, Hezar Jareb Street, Isfahan, Iran. E-mail: [email protected] Received: January 3, 2013 Accepted: January 27, 2013 Online Published: March 22, 2013 doi:10.5539/ach.v5n2p95 URL: http://dx.doi.org/10.5539/ach.v5n2p95 Abstract Different scholars have considered the Kara Koyunlu “Twelver Shiites”, “Radical Shiites” and some others “Sunnites.” A review of the “criteria for being recognized a Shiite” and comparing them with the Kara Koyunlu can confirm that they were Shiites. However, the Kara Koyunlu must be considered as having a type of Shia referred to as doctrinal Shia and Sufic Shia which having been formed through Shi’ization of the Sunnites and sharing Sufic characteristics, does not belong to any of the common sects of Shia. The present study aims to prove that the Kara Koyunlu were Shiites using descriptive-analytic method and library research. Keywords: The Kara Koyunlu, Persia (Iran), Azerbaijan, Shia, Sunni, Sufism 1. Introduction The religious beliefs of the Kara Koyunlu as a Persian ruling dynasty are important and interesting aspects and different, sometimes even contradictory opinions have been expressed about them. Various old and contemporary sources have referred to the Kara Koyunlu as followers of Twelver Shia, Exaggerating Shia, and sometimes Sunni. -
En Antologi Med Persiska Noveller Skrivna Efter Revolutionen I Iran 1979
ACTA UNIVERSITATIS UPSALIENSIS Studia Iranica Upsaliensia 37 Tavlan En antologi med persiska noveller skrivna efter revolutionen i Iran 1979 Forogh Hashabeiky (red.) ABSTRACT Hashabeiky, F. 2020. Tavlan. He is a native of Khoy, one of the cities of West Azerbaijan, who moved to Tehran when he was young. Mazhar is a Shiite poet and one of the followers of Haj Mirza Baba Zahabi (Raz Shirazi) from the Zahabi dynasty. His divan consists of poetic forms such as ghazal, masnavi, ode, piece and quatrain. His romantic lyric poems are full of mystical themes and terms that have been composed following Saadi and Hafez. In the poem, like other followers of the style of returning, he paid attention to Manouchehri, Ansari and Khaghani. Some of his poems are in praise of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Ali, and some are in praise of the great men of the Qajar court, including Nasser al-Din Shah, Muzaffar al-Din Shah, Prince Abdul Baqi, Heshmat al-Dawla and Prince Heshmat al-Dawla. -
