VIRGINIA RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AUTHORITY - 1989 - 1994. Roanoke, Virginia Governor appointed body with oversight of the state park lands for Explore Park in Roanoke, Virginia. Explore Park is a 2,000 acre, family-oriented, history and entertainment park which primarily tells the story of two cultures, Native American and Pioneer, and how they interacted. Explores environmental and education program is based on three components: (1) as an outdoor classroom and living museum, personified by the Blue Ridge Town, (2) classes and exhibits at the Lewis and Clark Environmental Education Center, and, (3) the American Wilderness Park that will retrace pioneer treks across the continent. The exhibits will combine North American animals and plants, indigenous to each region of the country in natural exhibits. VIRGINIA STATE PARK FOUNDATION - 1992 to 2001.
