Robert Barnard Professional Experience: TriMet, Portland, Oregon Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project Director 2008 to present Has primary responsibility for all aspects of project development and delivery, including final design and construction contracts. Manages staff responsible for administration of all design and construction contracts. Responsible for internal/external communications regarding project issues, and coordination with third parties. City of Portland, Office of Transportation, Portland, Oregon Project Manager 1992 to 2006 Responsible for successful delivery of large, complex, high-profile, politically sensitive, high-risk public works projects with significant capital budgets, including the $57 million Portland Aerial Tram. Other related duties included: construction, project management, budgeting, estimating, cost control, scheduling and building relationships other governmental agencies. Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership, Portland, Oregon Project Architect 1987 to 1992 Responsible for design development, contract document preparation and administration, scheduling, and on- site construction management support services for large, complex, high-dollar transportation facilities and buildings such as: The Holladay Street Improvement Phase II and III ($3.4 and $5.1 million): Complex, multi-discipline projects including infrastructure improvements for multiple City bureaus and TriMet. Work included design development, contract document preparation, management of consultant team and on-site construction management support services. Phase II required extensive coordination with TriMet’s bus operations to design and construct a new bus transfer facility. Phase III required extensive coordination with TriMet’s rail operations to design and construct prototype platforms for the west side light rail expansion. Oregon Convention Center Project ($85 million): Regional convention center, 490,000 square foot complex. Work included one year full-time contract document development and one year full-time construction administration support. Reorganized staff from several departments to coordinate similar functions. Established new procedures for defining design and scope changes and conducting orderly and comprehensive review of proposed changes.
