Introduction

This report highlights the major activities of DSPR Jordan during November 2015 that focused on ACT SYR 151in cooperation with:

Free Medical Days

DSPR Jordan conducted in cooperation with Jordan University Hospital the following free medical days:

1- Free Medical Day – Souf Camp

(480) Individuals benefitted from (4) specialties where (4) doctors, (4) nurses, and (2) pharmacists participated in serving these needy people.

2- The major free medical day that took place was for Iraqi refugees within RRF Project where (150) Iraqi families were surveyed for chronic diseases (Hypertension and Diabetic) in Amman Governorate- Ashrafiah Area.

Home visits were conducted to these families, data were collected to determine the right medicine for each patients, and medicine with around $ 10,000 were issued for these families.

During the RRF project period, (269) cases were referred for further treatment at Italian Hospital, Al Mahaba Hospital, Caritas clinics, and DSPR clinics.

T.O.T Workshop

Under the patronage of our chairperson, Dr. Farah Atallah, DSPR Jordan conducted major event titled “T.O.T” on Tuesday 12/11/2015 at Theodor Schneller School in Amman for the purpose of reinforce the role of volunteers and provide them with needed skills in working with refugees, in addition to discussing needs of refugees from volunteers experiences and views. (110) Volunteers participated in this workshop from Irbid, Waqass, Husn, Souf, Jerash, Baqa’, Talbiah, Madaba, Kerak, Zarqa, Jabal Al-Hussien, Sukhneh, and Al-Ashrafiah. All participants showed great involvement by adding their inputs, came out with several outputs, and provided DSPR with qualitative information about their training needs, refugee’s needs.

DSPR Central Committee and Round Table Meetings

DSPR had its second biannual meeting as of 6-7/11/2015, and its round table meeting with its partners as of 8-9/11/2015.

The two meetings discussed several issues about the situation in the region, action plans, achievements, advocacy, financial issues, partners plans to support DSPR. During the meetings, field visit for DSPR partners were arranged by DSPR Jordan to Souf and Husn camps to attend various activities and programs either within Syrian refugees program or within DSPR’s on going programs

New appeal to be launched soon

The new appeal for Syria response (SYR 161) prepared by the requesting members and is ready to launched before Christmas. The appeal was prepared based on needs assessments, surveys, data collection, field visits to targeted areas to determine the real needs of the beneficiaries.

There was focus also on ACT/JSL Forum joint activities and included building capacities among requesting members in different components such as women empowerment, monitoring and evaluation, protection, and refugees participation.
