Braving the cold chill on Monday 29th May 2017, students from 12ENGS03 attended a performance of The Shoe Horn Sonata at Giant Dwarf Theatre in Redfern as part of their HSC English course. The play produced by Stephen Wallace and performed through the impulse theatre group was a depiction of actual events that occurred in WW2 and explored visually what it was like to be a prisoner of war under the Japanese in Sumatra.

Interact Club fundraisers

Bossley Park High School Wellbeing

Wednesday of Week 5 was a huge day for the Interact Club, where a group of 30 students ran @BossleyParkHS two fundraisers at the same time.

The Interact Club, in partnership with Baker’s Delight Wetherill Park, sold over 600 pink finger buns to support the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). Between sales to staff and students, and a generous $200 donation from the school canteen, we raised over $1200 to support women affected by breast cancer. @bossleyparkhs

At junior and senior lunch, Interact members ran some great activities to raise funds for the Humour Foundation’s Clown Doctors. Between donut eating competitions, matching teacher’s names to their baby photos and an Oreo guessing competition, we were able to raise $150, an amount matched by the Interact Club’s own donation – resulting in a $300 donation to help make kids’ time in hospital less unpleasant.

A massive congratulations to the Interact Club for a successful day, and a huge thank you to students, staff and the canteen for your generous support.

The Interact Club meets every second Thursday at 8am in Room 12. Students explore ways to support good causes as well as pursuing student leadership opportunities. If you are interested in joining, please see Taylah in Year 11.
