The centre’s Olympic 50 metre lap pool is the Seven Hills – Toongabbie RSL Swimming Club top destination for swimming carnivals in Blacktown City Aquatic Blacktown City Masters and surrounds, for both schools and swimming clubs. Blacktown Diggers Blacktown Aquatic Centre hosted 44 swimming carnivals Centre Special Olympics between December 2019 to March 2020. The centre also runs Council’s Aqua Learn to Swim program continuing to teach children as young as 6 month old, all the way up to adults, the important life skill of learning to swim and water safety. International Centre of Training Excellence An international centre of training excellence is being developed within the Blacktown International Sportspark, Sydney with construction scheduled to start in quarter 3 of 2021. The centre will include: Physiology laboratories Strength and conditioning Sports medicine Hydrotherapy Environmental chamber, Auditorium Café/dining. In addition to the facilities within the building a new all-weather synthetic pitch will be built, a space that can be used by the local community and a range of sporting teams alike. We are working with key stakeholders including Higher Education, the Western Sydney Local Health District and sporting bodies to provide the local community with a facility and expertise that have a demonstrable bene¡t to health, ¡tness and sports performance. The development will also include a new 100 bed accommodation block designed to host domestic and international sporting teams competing and training in and around the Blacktown International Sportspark.
