WWE: Wrestlemania 31 Shaping up to Be the Worst Ever WWE: Wrestlemania 31 Shaping Up To Be The Worst Ever Author : Robert D. Cobb The WWE Universe is less than three weeks away from their biggest show of the year, and things are not looking very promising for Wrestlemania 31. Following last year’s brilliant card, the WWE had a ton of momentum heading into this year and with a healthy roster they shouldn’t be having the problems they currently are. Lets take a look at the current card, and how it could have been a lot better. WWE World Heavyweight Title Match Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns Paul Heyman has cut some amazing promos to keep this even close to watchable. No one wanted to see Roman Reigns in the main event over Daniel Bryan, and the WWE forced it to happen anyway. The leaked story of Lesnar leaving WWE the night after Mania to return to the UFC isn’t helping matters. No one expects Lesnar to leave Mania with the title, and if he does you can almost certainly expect Seth Rollins to cash in his MITB on him the following night and properly send Lesnar off to the UFC. Triple H vs. Sting This match actually had legs at one point, everyone wanted to see the returning Sting, take down the evil Authority leader HHH. Things were going good until last night, when they had Sting deliver a taped promo and used SOMEONES ELSES VOICE??????? Any steam this match had is now gone. You have a 55 year old Sting, whose sole image was to be the silent vigilante, and in one ill timed, idiotic promo, the WWE blew that one. The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt This match would have been great last year. Since the Undertaker has already lost and the streak was stopped last year. What would Wyatt, who is one of the best young performers on the roster, have to gain from the win? This match should have happened last year, bottom line! United States Title Match John Cena vs. Rusev This is another match that WAS looking great until last nights RAW. Rusev WAS a monster and Cena was the ultimate good guy to take him down. They simply needed to wait three more weeks until Wrestlemania. That match lost all momentum last night with Cena destroying Rusev during a promo. Total waste. Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match Barrett (c) vs. Harper vs. Truth vs. Ambrose vs. Ziggler vs Daniel Bryan Calling it right now, this will steal the show! 5 guys who can absolutely go, and R- Truth. I would have much rather saw a Ziggler vs Bryan co main event, but this will do nicely! 1 / 2 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal This will be a fun one to watch. After Cesaro won last year, it did nothing for his career. It actually set him back. However, this time around, a Mizdow win could be the start of something big. AJ Lee & Paige vs. The Bella Twins This should have been a one on one with AJ vs Paige. But the WWE continues to force the Bellas down our throats. After last night, it also apparent that a match with Seth Rollins and Randy Orton will take place. Just another reminder of why Randy Orton will never work as a face. The crowd barely cheered or even seemed to care about his beat down of Rollins last night. Please WWE, prove me wrong. As a lifelong WWE fan, I couldn’t be happier if you did. 2 / 2 Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org).

Kellner, Co-Chair This dissertation comprises three case studies of audience participation in media, addressing in turn Web 2.0, fan culture, and video games. The overarching theoretical framework highlights the dynamics between participation ‘from above’ and ‘from below,’ emphasizing the fact that participation is managed, controlled, and commodified on the one hand, and holds the potential for autonomy, creativity, and resistance on the other. This framework represents a synthesis of existing approaches to the study of audiences, bridging accounts of ‘participatory culture’ and ‘audience autonomy’ with those emphasizing the ‘new spirit of capitalism’ and the ‘social factory.’ The first constituent chapter is a study of the ideology and practice of Web 2.0 platforms, centering on a thematic analysis of managerial literature that finds such platforms to be extensions of what Boltanski and Chiapello term the ‘new,’ ‘participatory’ spirit of capitalism.

  • Cubed Circle Newsletter 179 – Wrestlemania Weekend 2015
Cubed Circle Newsletter 179 – WrestleMania Weekend 2015 We didn't have an issue last week due to WrestleMania Weekend, and our preparation for various events. However, we are back this week for what will be, behind the yearbook, most likely our biggest issue of the year covering not only WrestleMania 31, but also all the WWN Live shows (excluding Kaiju), the Hall of Fame, last week's RAW and NXT, Balor/Owens, the post-Mania RAW, terrific ratings, and more! It was the happiest time of the year – WrestleMania Weekend. – Ryan Clingman, Cubed Circle Newsletter Editor WrestleMania 31: A Classic Show? Not Really. Ryan Clingman. It seems strangely apropos that the most important piece of build on this year's Road to WrestleMania took place not in a medium governed by the pens of creative, or even exclusively by the whims of Vince McMahon, but rather through the contract negotiations between the aforementioned VKM and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. With Mania excitement as low as it has been in years, perhaps decades the WrestleMania 31 outlook was far from positive – a reality further compounded by what seemed to be the inevitable departure of Brock Lesnar for a second run with the UFC. Whilst Creative was not remedied during the final week's build, nor may it be recovering a week on from the year's biggest show, last week's breaking news of Lesnar re-signing with the company, soon heated, at least somewhat, a build that had been fast approaching absolute zero. No longer, as in WrestleManias over the past five years, was this show's closing image predictable – the opposite was the case, in fact, as many a possibility involving Lesnar, the heel who was over like a God, Reigns, who was hated by the majority, and Seth Rollins, the Money in the Bank briefcase holder with respect from the hardcore fanbase – were possible.

  • WWE: Final Things to Watch for in Wrestlemania 31
WWE: Final Things To Watch For In Wrestlemania 31 Author : Robert D. Cobb As we head into Wrestlemania 31 tonight there is still so much in question and many outcomes in serious doubt. With Brock Lesnar resigning another three year deal earlier in the week, the forgone conclusion of Roman Reigns walking out with the title is now far from a sure thing. That along with other various factors seems to have fans excited for a Wrestlemania that were just a few short weeks ago soured on. Here are just a few things to look for to unfold tonight. -The Andre the Giant Battle Royal being moved to the pre-show card. This leads us to believe that it will be Damien Mizdow winning the event, last eliminating The Miz, which would set up a match to be added to the main card between the two. -There are recent rumors that Ric Flair will be interfering on Stings behalf, this leads us to believe that HHH may being laying down again at Wrestlemania to get someone else over. Or does Ric Flair turn on Sting and side with HHH? This could play out any number of ways. -Look for John Cena and Daniel Bryan to both win the United States Title and Intercontinental Title as the WWE is looking to put a greater importance on both. By having two of their biggest stars carry these titles, will really bring them to the forefront. This will also allow them to keep the title on Brock Lesnar even though he will be a part time employee, because shows can still be headlined by both of these titles instead.
