There are thousands of Siva sthalams- pilgrimage sites - renowned for their divine images. And it is for the Darsan of these divine images as well the pilgrimage places themselves - which are believed to be the natural places where Gods have dwelled - the pilgrimage is made. -

The paper emphasizes the prospect of religious tourism in Naimisranaya as there is dearth of academic research in the selected destination. The study explores issues and suggested promotional strategies for development of tourism industry. Expert interview and secondary sources (news articles, magazine, and reports) were used as data collection source, primary data was collected using purposive sampling. The finding of study offers insights into prospects pioneering roles in key religious sites of Naimisaranya, to create initiatives in rebuilding religious tourism destination. Gods are numerous and each god or goddess shows very often mutually irreconcilable traits within him or her. This is equally true of Sarasvati, too. She is one of female deities of the Rgvedic times. She has got many peculiarities of her own resulting in complexity of her various conceptions through the ages. In the Rgvedic pantheon, among female deities, Usas, the daughter of the heaven is (divo duhita)/given an exalted place and has been highly extolled as a symbol of poetic beauty. Sarasvati comes next to her in comparison to other Rgvedic goddesses. But in the later period, Usas has lost her superiority and Sarasvati has excelled her. The superiority of Sarasvati is also obvious from another instance. In the Vedic pantheon, many ideitiet s arose and later on merged into others. If any one of them survived,/was mostly in an sterio- typed form. But with Sarasvati, there has been a gradual process of change and development. In her earliest stage, she was a spacious stream having rythmic flow and congenial waters. It was, therefore, but natural that it arrested the attention of seers dwelling along with its banks. They showed their heart-felt reverence to her. -

Guruvayurappan Temple had a humble beginning in a hall in the said address several years ago, though its greatness was not any less than now. Then, it was a modest shrine; its grandeur is yet to manifest. The devotees saw the girders rise against the azure sky with fluffy clouds. The building rose around the steel girders through rain, shine, storm and snow in the middle of the woods to the delight of the devotees and the astute planners. Its vista is spectacular. I tried to capture its beauty surrounded by verdant woods turning colors from spring to fall. The trees and the spring and the summer leaves bore witness to the devotees coming and going with reverence in their hearts. As the rains came down from the heavens, each leaf shed its tears of joy to see the temple rise from mother earth. The temple bears rainbow colors on its exterior and its architecture is wonderful. Could this location be Brindavanam of North America? Could this have been where Krishna sported with Gopis in His youth. Such thoughts come up in the mind. See the splash of colors in this portrait bearing witness to the colorful persona of Bhagavan Krishna. The Morganville Temple the namesake of Gurvayur Sri Krishna Temple in Kerala houses Guruvayoorappan as the central deity. Its broad appeal is that the temple houses other deities. The presiding deity is MahaVishnu in the form of Krishna with Tulasi garland, in standing posture with four hands carrying Sankhu (conch), Sudarshana chakram (a serrated disk), lotus and mace. -

Its traditions of ritual and reverence are linked primarily to place-to hill- tops and rock outcroppings, to the headwaters and confluences of rivers, to the pools and groves of the forests, and to the boundaries of towns and villages. In this locative form of religiousness, the place itself is the primary locus of devotion, and its traditions of ritual and pilgrimage are usually much older than any of the particular myths and deities which attach to it. In the wider Hindu tradition, these places, par- ticularly those associated with waters, are often called tirthas, and pilgrimage to these tirthas is one of the oldest and still one of the most prominent features of Indian religious life. A tZrtha is a "crossing place," a "ford," where one may cross over to the far shore of a river or to the far shore of the worlds of heaven. -

Glossary to the Record of Yoga Introductory Note Status. Work on this glossary is in progress. Some definitions are provisional and will be revised before the glossary is published. Scope. Most words from languages other than English (primarily San- skrit), and some English words used in special senses in the Record of Yoga, are included. Transliteration. Words in italics are Sanskrit unless otherwise indi- cated. Sanskrit words are spelled according to the standard interna- tional system of transliteration. This has been adopted because the same Sanskrit word is often spelled in more than one way in the text. The spellings that occur in the text, if they differ from the transliter- ation (ignoring any diacritical marks over and under the letters), are mentioned in parentheses. The sounds represented by c, r.,ands´ or s. in the standard transliteration are commonly represented by “ch”, “ri”, and “sh” in the anglicised spellings normally used in the Record of Yoga. Order. All entries, regardless of language, are arranged in English al- phabetical order. Words and phrases are alphabetised letter by letter, disregarding diacritics, spaces and hyphens. Compounds and phrases. A compound or phrase composed of words that do not occur separately in the text is normally listed as a unit and the words are not defined individually. Compound expressions consisting of words that also occur by themselves, and thus are defined separately, are listed in the glossary only if they occur frequently or have a special significance. Definitions. The definition of each term is intended only as an aid to understanding its occurrences in the Record of Yoga.
