EDITOR’S LETTER

Welcome to the September issue of the Alyth Voice!

As I write, we’ve been experiencing one of the wettest summers for many a year, which has understandably raised concerns among many in the town recalling the trauma of the 2015 floods that devastated homes and businesses along the burn. One reader, Calum Smith, has eloquently expressed his fears in a letter in this issue and he is currently taking the issue up with the authorities and with our political representatives. Do you think enough has been done since 2015 to prevent a recurrence? If not, what more do you think needs to be done?

On a more positive note, it’s good to see the benefits of the Tullymurdoch Wind-Farm beginning to flow into the town. Alyth Development Trust has just announced the first of its grants to local projects using the community benefit money coming from the energy company that operates the wind-farm (see the ADT Update in this issue). ADT is now inviting bids for the second round of funding, so if you or your community group has an idea that will make Alyth an even better place to live, do consider applying for a grant before the 31 October deadline at https:// www.lovealyth.org.uk/projects/alyth-community-projects-fund/. In addition, the Trust is always keen to hear from local people who want to get involved and help it achieve its objectives, so why not consider going along to their forthcoming AGM at Alyth Community Wing on 23 September, starting at 7.30pm?

We also feature an exclusive interview with local renaissance man Ron McGill, one of the leading lights behind Alyth Creates. We’ve all enjoyed three years of this wonderful celebration of talent and creativity, but the demands it places on its small band of volunteer organisers are placing a question mark on whether Alyth Creates is sustainable in its current form. Ron tells us there’s a meeting scheduled for September to decide on the way ahead, so if you think Alyth Creates should continue and you could help in some way, why not get in touch with the Alyth Arts & Craft Guild via their website?: https://www.alythartsandcraftsguild.co.uk

Finally, many apologies for getting Mabel Milne’s name wrong in the thank-you notice on page 27 of our August issue - I’m going to claim my ageing eyesight was at fault for mis-reading the original note. Belated congratulations from all at the Voice on the occasion of your 90th birthday, Mabel!

Best wishes to all,

Kevin Coe Editor

CYCLE NETWORK GOES ONLINE

The Strathmore Cycle Network is rolling on well with a new online presence and a dedicated development officer to help promote it.

The SCN Facebook page went live last month following the appointment of Grant Murdoch as development officer, funded by a grant from the Paths For All charity. As well as setting up the new Facebook page, Grant is also busy developing a website for the Network, promoting it at local events and negotiating with other groups to increase the use of the Network for things like guided cycle tours. You can contact Grant for more information via [email protected]

The Strathmore Cycle Network is a £1.6m partnership project involving ADT together with Blairgowrie & Rattray Development Trust and Forward , to create a network of shared-user paths to connect the three towns. Phase 1 of the network, connecting Alyth and Rattray, opened last autumn, and work on two new sections between Coupar Angus and Blairgowrie is planned to start soon.

Bowling Club wins grant from Community Projects Fund

Female members and guests of Alyth Bowling & Tennis Club will be the first to benefit from the new Community Projects Fund established by Alyth Development Trust.

ADT has awarded £2,000 from the Fund to be invested in a £3,500 upgrade of the ladies toilets at the Club’s Albert Street premises. The project will bring the toilets up to date and make them safer and more environmentally-friendly for females of all ages and also help those with minor disabilities.

Club secretary Eleanor Grant explained that the works, due to be completed by the end of October, will see a complete refurbishment of the toilets, with new fixtures and fittings, energy- efficient lighting, and anti-slip flooring installed.

“This is much needed, as it’s been quite a few years since we could afford any work on the toilets. We upgraded the men’s toilets a couple of years ago, but they needed work done ahead of the ladies toilets. We’re delighted to be getting the grant from ADT as otherwise the project wouldn’t have been able to go ahead this year.

The Club has around 30 adult female members and many juniors, and has seen membership - both female and male - increasing steadily since a marketing drive started earlier this year. The junior section, in particular, has been able to travel to compete against other clubs as well as having regular sessions at Albert Street.

A total of six projects are to be awarded grants under the first round of the ADT Community Projects Fund - look out for announcements of the other five shortly. The Fund is now open for applications for the second round of funding with a deadline of 31 October. Find out more and fill in the online application form at https://www.lovealyth.org.uk/projects/alyth-community- projects-fund/

Save the date for your diary

Alyth Development Trust will be holding its 2019 AGM on Monday 23 September, starting at 7.30pm in the Alyth Community Wing, Albert Street, Alyth. We’re hoping to see as many members as possible and of course anyone else interested in finding out more about us and maybe even getting involved. Thrifty One From the Community, For the Community

Opening times: 10am—4pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday Phone: Anne 07592 338449.(speak or leave a message) Facebook message on our page: Thrifty One Email: [email protected]

For those of you who use social media , you can find us as Thrifty One. Please like & share us with your friends. The more folk who know about us, the more funds we can raise. Thanks!

Donation:

Thrifty One was pleased to be able to help the Alyth & District Pipe Band with a donation of £300 towards items of uniform for new members. The photo shows Thrifty One Volunteer, Robert McCarron, handing the donation to Atholl Clarke. We look forward to seeing the band in their new gear.

School Uniforms:

Our 50p/item school uniform sale has proved very popular. We will keep a store of uniform items available after this promotion finishes. So please do ask if you need to replace torn breeks, lost sweatshirt.... We know how quickly a new uniform can just vanish, disintegrate or ‘shrink’!

Benches:

It turns out that we were a tad optimistic in planning to have photos for you this month. However the plans to position the benches are in hand and maybe photos next month...?

Dylan:

Dylan is a regular visitor to Thrifty One. He likes to have a good look round and buys the most obscure objects. Or so one would think!? However he brought in a shield to show us. All made from bits & pieces he had found on our rails. We were so impressed we took a photo.

We are always pleased to see how, with a bit of imagination, items can be given a whole different look and function. This is partly why we have our ‘clutter corners’ of craft items, fabric, wool etc. At times we understand why main stream charity shops get rid of such bits and pieces (it can be a bit overwhelming). But then someone will come in and go away with an armful of clutter, a smile on their face at finding such ‘treasure. The smiles on our faces are for the temporary space created and seeing what might have been in landfill being put to good and happy use.

Alyth Community Council

The Council (ACC) met on Wednesday 14th August 2019 in Alyth Town Hall

The main points of discussion were as follows:

Points Discussed

Market Square: Traffic Still a problem with the Buses stopping at the bus stop for longer than necessary holding up traffic behind them. Bus operators to be contacted. Cars entering and leaving the car park illegally and driving over the footpaths. P&K to be informed again.

Speeding: The Council hopes that perhaps the Primary School could be involved in somehow helping to prevent ongoing speeding in the town because at present P&K have not come up with an agreed method.

Puffin Crossing: It is hoped that there will be no further progress in making the town have a crossing.

Plaque for Professor Hutchinson: Plans to have a plaque are well in hand.

Untidy Areas in Town: Alyth in Bloom have greatly improved various areas within the town and will do more to Mill St. Park, the top of Toutie Street and elsewhere. The Council feels that a greater effort by residents and various property owners is needed to further improve the town. The entrance to the new Primary School and the area in front of the war memorials are perfect examples where an improvement is required.

Flooding of the Burn: Residents are becoming increasingly concerned that no action is being seen or heard about reducing the risk to the town. SEPA have said that the base of the burn will not be reduced to previous levels which happened years ago. Nobody seems to know why not!

Having a warning to tell everyone the burn is going to flood is pointless if no procedures are in place to reduce the expected damage. SEPA, P&K Council and other interested bodies are to be requested to have a joint meeting with Alyth Community Council to address the problem. Reducing the base level and changing the existing weirs would greatly enhance the visual aspect of the burn in summer and would allow a greater volume of water to flow down the burn in the winter.

Alyth Town Hall: Alyth Council have been informed that P&K are to spend £90K in replacing the boiler and controls and some additional repairs to the external faces of the building.

Advertising Banners and Boards: The Council is very disappointed to see these items around the square and at entrances into the town. One wonders what the place will look like when all shops and businesses erect signs and board. There is a notice board in the square for detailing where various premises are located. The Council is in touch with P&K Council to have advertising removed.

Community Council Elections: New elections for the Council will be held in September 2019 and details will be posted in the square notice board and in the library.

Due to various problems the Community Council Meetings will now be held on the First Wednesday of each month in The Alyth Town Hall at 7.00pm.

Greenhouse. Things will be beginning to slow up now. Remove the growing tip and any dead or dying leaves from tomatoes. There is still time to sow salad leaves in the greenhouse for a later crop.

Plant spring flowering bulbs such as daffodils, hyacinths crocuses to ensure some early colour next year.

Most varieties of potatoes can be harvested, allow the tubers to dry before bagging and storing in a frost free location.

Check herbaceous/perennials, divide and replant as necessary. Biennials can be planted to fill gaps. Lift dahlia tubers at the first sign of frost, place tubers in sheltered spot to allow to dry before storing in a cool frost free location.

ALYTH ARTISTS OPEN STUDIOS - 7th - 15th September

Six venues in Alyth once again open their studios to the public for 9 days during September whilst taking part in the eleventh Perthshire Open Studios event. We have seasoned POS members such as Maria Nordgren of Momentum Pottery on St Andrews St, Lesley Garside (glass), Kerstin Robb (ceramics) and renown Jonathan Mitchell (paintings) based at Hazel Court. This year we also have two new Alyth studios open - established artist Louise Jarvis with her amazing pet sculptures on Springbank Road and Jill McIntosh showing her lovely paintings opposite the Den. At the top of Alyth on the HIgh Street, Stewart Graham (paintings) and guest Sheila Roussell (jewellery) exhibit and on the very outskirts, heading out on the Glenisla road, you can visit Ron Dickens (wildlife woodcarvings) at the Leck near Inverquiech.

Several established venues also have guest artists such as David McGivern (stone carving), Ellie Fiddes (textiles), Rachel Bower (woven willow) and Christine Flynn (raku firing demos). There are taster sessions, workshops, demos and art clinics throughout the week. Look out for the Alyth leaflet and the POS brochure for more information and also updates on individual artists social media pages or websites. Times are generally 10am - 5pm every day but do vary slightly at individual venues. Please check the literature for details.

All the venues will be well signposted with orange signs and arrows, banners and maybe bunting. This is a great opportunity to visit, view and discuss the artists work and often see it in progress. Please support and get to know our local talent - Alyth is full of quality art and craft with the participating artists investing a lot of time, money and effort taking part in the event each year.

Waterfalls and stone circles

Loch Tay and Kenmore is an area of outstanding mountain scenery but also shows evidence of human occupation for millennia. As well as the reconstruction of the Iron Age crannog, the area abounds in standing stones, stone circles, and includes the ancient yew at , which experts think may be an astonishing 1000-2000 years old. The last Ice Age scoured the local rocks, which created the basin now occupied by , and resulted in the spectacular Falls of Acharn, the venue for the latest Alyth Walkers adventure. A steep climb from the village of Acharn allowed views of the series of falls, water carved pools, and giant fern covered boulders. Continuing to climb the group passed close by a stone circle within sight of Schiehallion and the group, and into the remote Glen Quaich with a lunch stop at a bothy. The return downhill loop gave an opportunity to take in the panorama of loch and distant mountains.

FLOODING DANGER

On the 31st July, after some heavy rain, the Alyth Burn levels rose to the top of the wall, lapping over into the flower beds above the phone box and was in danger of flooding again. Some of us who live by the burn were left shell-shocked at the prospect of being flooded out of our homes again bringing back all the memories of the last flood that left a lot of Alyth residents traumatised and homeless. Thankfully the levels dropped again but how long will it be before the town does get flooded again? What happened to all the flood defences that were supposed to be put in place? Where are the emergency sandbags that were meant to be stored for such events? Property owners already have to pay inflated prices to insure their homes and businesses. Some are finding it difficult to sell their homes and move away from the problem. Another flood is going to exacerbate this situation and make these properties worthless. I and many others had a sleepless night that night worrying we were about to be flooded again. How many more sleepless nights do we need to have before something is done about this. There are inherent problems with the burn, such as the concrete tiers, that trap silt and gravel which causes the riverbed to rise and reduces the height of wall that should stop the burn from flooding. These problems should have been dealt with 3 years ago but need to be addressed now, and quickly, before its too late. Or are we to just wait until the town is flooded again before any action is taken to fix the problems?

PEZA TRUST - Coffee Morning

PEZA Trust (Scotland) held a coffee morning in Airlie Street Hall on August 3rd. Thanks to the generosity of the Alyth community and beyond, the event was a great success. The sum raised was £914 and the money will be used to improve the lives of young people in Zimbabwe. They were hit by a Cyclone early this year and it has made the normal challenges of everyday life even harder. Our money is used for education, sport, teaching conservation and many other worthwhile activities. Be assured we are making a difference. Thankyou to everyone who donated, helped on the day and most of all to those who came along and supported us.

Notes from Alyth Musical Society

Calling all Gangsters and Molls and budding members of the Salvation Army.

Alyth Musical Society needs you, particularly (although not exclusively) if you are a man. We will shortly begin rehearsing for the 2020 production of “Guys and Dolls!” Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls ran for 1,200 performances when it opened on Broadway in 1950. It received nearly unanimous positive reviews from critics and won a bevy of awards, including Tony Awards, Drama Desks and Oliviers. Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong. The show will run from Tuesday 21st to Saturday 25th April 2020. Rehearsals start on Monday 30th September at the Ogilvy Rooms at 7:30pm. For further information please visit our Facebook page or email [email protected]. Feel free to come along, you will be made most welcome. Don’t forget, rehearsals are well underway for our Pantomime, Jock and the Beanstalk which runs from Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th of December. Tickets go on sale in October.

Due to the recent wet weather the ‘’Bloomers’’ have not been out as a group on our weekly Friday mornings doing what we like best,- weeding, deadheading, grass cutting, strimming and generally keeping Alyth looking beautiful. Works have however been progressing slowly at the new Community Garden at the top of Toutie Street. The path has been levelled for hardcore and sand ready for slabbing. Two grass areas are covered with bark and the banking raked and grass seeded. When the rains stop the project can be completed with fencing erected and benches put in place. Another project completed by Alyth in Bloom for all to enjoy. Please remember to register your CO-OP card as this will help Ai B in our quest to be the next chosen charity. If cards are not registered we will lose your votes and not get the grant! The second garden competition took place on 27th July-perhaps the hottest day of the month. Our judge this year was Steven Mitchell who is well known in the ‘’Gardening Fraternity’’ We thoroughly enjoyed viewing all the gardens and were most impressed by the high standard of the entries.

The winners were: Large Garden - Anne Simpson. Medium Garden - Mr and Mrs Cunningham Small Garden - Margaret Aitcheson. Best Small Border – Louise Campbell Best Hanging Basket – Margaret Aitcheson. Best Container – Mr and Mrs Cunningham Best Single Exhibit – Peter Robertson. Best Overall Garden – Anne Simpson Small Border – Louise Campbell. Best Overall Exhibit – Hamish Simpson

The Prize giving will be held in the Burnside Inn on Wednesday 28th August. Hanging Baskets around the town have been generally well maintained although it has been disappointing to see some neglected. Thanks to all our volunteers and new recruits Linda and Sandy Martin for your continued support. Karin Donaldson Chairperson

SCOUTS

Summer camp took us into foreign lands this year , to a kingdom far away...well it was the Kingdom of Fife and our location was Fordell Firs near Dunfermline. The international aspect was further enhanced as our “neighbours” for the week was a Group from Dublin. These were highly sociable people and the Scouts mixed well with them. I don’t think the Irish had kissed the Blarney Stone, some must have swallowed it! But we could not have got a better bunch to have been with. Being completely chaotic, we were all on the same wavelength. Norman West set up the week camp which was full of the activities Fordell run for Scouts. This allowed the Scouts to take part in Caving, Grass Sleds, Climbing Wall, Abseiling, Crate climbing, Bungee Trampoline and the fearsome 3G Swing and Zip wire. A day was spent at Loch Ore where everyone had a go at Dragon boating. It didn’t take long for the troops to spot the cafe and the play area which were extensively investigated. Unfortunately as the day progressed the weather deteriorated to the point where we returned to camp early and had our barbeque in the relative comfort of the marquee instead of the windy rain soaked shore of Loch Ore. Our Group Committee had allowed us funds for the purchase of two Kelly kettles which are a backwoods stove which is very fuel efficient. Bringing these out for the first time, I realised I really should have studied them a bit closer prior to showing the Scouts how they worked. Fortunately for me, an ex Leader, David Pirie came to visit us at this point, so I handed the lot over with the introduction that “Uncle Dave” will show you how it works. Quite simple really. I did enjoy his opening gambit of “ Now, let’s see what we’ve got in the box”. Well done Dave and thank you for calling in. Inevitably, we had a campfire with our Irish friends, who had been joined by a contingent of Scouts from Ratho. It was evident that not only was everyone aware of campfires, they were keen to take the lead in many of them. I found this most rewarding as by taking part they make it their event. It also gives the leader a breather. One “new” number introduced to the entertainment reflected on the antics of an unspecified Leader and Kelly Kettles, all set to the tune of “She’s just a Kelty Clippie”. For some peculiar reason all the Alyth Scouts found this most amusing. Thank you Norman (Must have been Dave!!) Our campsite looked most impressive, with our marquee being divided off into four sections, one for each Patrol, where it was possible to supervise the cooking of meals, the consumption of food and the tidying away of dishes. Everyone played an equal part in the duties and all responded to the challenge I am quite confident that we will have a return visit to Fordell sometime, and if any of the present Scouts are still with us, they will be the first on the list to go. Well done to all participants

ESTíO

Somebody told me a week ago, around the 10th August I think, that as much rain had fallen in those ten days as falls usually in the whole month. Warmth and then rain - it’s not so many weeks since we were told that rain followed by warmth would lead to a surge of midges. I haven’t noticed that here: in fact this summer has been notably short of midges, though encountering a family muffled up in black midge veils it was clear that somebody had been paying attention to the warnings of the BBC. Now, with rain after that warmth, we are seeing an explosive growth of fungi. Earlier in the summer it was good to see the bright lemon pores of larch boletes and, more recently the cinnamon caps of birch boletes with their mottled stems. Now great masses of fairy ring mushrooms are making trails and rings in woodland clearings and lawns. Vanya, a Russian visitor, was delighted to find a fine cep: the only other one I have seen so far was far gone, infested by maggots and chewed: all that remained to remind one of its culinary possibilities was its scent.

It is one of the strange conventions of British life that the summer doesn’t happen until August. The BBC, for example, speaks about summer breaks in August when the month seems to me to be but a warning of autumn as the vegetation prepares for the end of the growing season. You have only to look at the leaves on trees at this time of year to see that this is so. They are blotchy, nibbled round the edges, tired. They have been working hard all through the growing season, sucking carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere to build organic matter. Now, their resistance failing, they become hosts to rusts and vulnerable to attack by insects and fungi. Soon, as daylight shortens further, and the first frosts come, deciduous trees will shut down

I read recently that the reason why the Westminster Parliament shut down in August in the 19th Century for the long summer recess was that the stench of sewage coming from the Thames became overwhelming. The then new fashion for shooting driven grouse seems to have had a hand in the matter too. Summer, indeed!

Interview with: Ron McGill by Kevin Coe

Having been a researcher, teacher, computer engineer, dry-stone waller, garden designer, runner and artist, Ron McGill is very much a renaissance man.

It’s perhaps no surprise, then, that he should have become one of the main organisers of Alyth Creates, the annual celebration of creativity and talent that has helped put the town on the cultural map in recent years.

Ron was born in Hamilton, and grew up in Bridge of Weir. He went to Camphill Secondary, Paisley, and then Glasgow University, graduating in 1972 in sciences. He joined the geology department at Dundee University where he worked until 1989 as a researcher and teacher. He specialised in geochemistry, using advanced technology such as electron- microscopy to analyse the chemical composition of rocks and minerals, and eventually completed a masters degree in geochemistry.

He also pursued an interest in archaeology, chairing the Archaeology Society and taking part in several excavations, as well as qualifying as a ski leader, windsurfing instructor and diver, eventually becoming responsible for training student members of the Sub-Aqua Club.

In 1989, departmental merger plans would have moved his job to Glasgow, so he took redundancy from the university and enrolled on a postgraduate degree in computing at what is now Abertay University, before joining the Wm. Low supermarket chain to run their in-store computing systems.

“It was challenging but interesting work,” Ron recalls, “going round the stores and talking to people to help them get the best out of the new technology. There were only two of us in the department at first, but more people joined and we brought in new systems such as electronic cash payments, chip-cards and so on.”

He used the redundancy money from Dundee University to build a house in Auchterhouse, and since the plot had no boundary marker Ron decided he would build a dry-stone wall around it.

“I started going along to meetings of the Dry-Stone Walling Association and learnt as much as I could from the experts,” says Ron.

In 1994, Tesco took over the Low’s chain, so Ron decided on another career change and started his own business as a professional dry-stone waller and garden designer. After completing a horticultural course at Dundee College, he opened for business in April 1996 and immediately won commissions in Auchterhouse.

“I’d had an interest in gardening since childhood,” he recalls, “and my computing knowledge and skills also helped with design and planning, so I could do all the design and building work - teaching myself many of the building skills required, developing contacts and a network of suppliers, especially of good quality stone.

“Working at Low’s had taught me how to talk to people and find out what they really wanted, and I found I had the ability to look at a plot of land and see its potential, helping garden owners to get the most out of their gardens. It was hard work and could be grim at times when the weather was bad, but it was very satisfying.”

Ron’s business thrived and he was soon getting commissions from all over Scotland. A gold medal at the first ever Dundee Flower Show was followed by the drystone “kissing seat” at the first Scottish Garden Show at Ingliston, and a garden feature at the Lands of Loyal Hotel.

Ron’s wife Alison, a qualified food scientist, worked for a cheese-maker at Kinfauns and later for a coffee roaster in Dundee. They were quite settled in Auchterhouse, but had had to move to rented accommodation when Ron left Tesco. After a few years, they decided they wanted to buy a permanent home.

“In 2006, we spotted a house for sale in New Alyth. I’d done some work in the area but didn’t know it well,” says Ron. “When we came to view the house on a dull winter’s day, we could see its potential. It turned out to be just what we were looking for - 200 years old with some work needed, but being stone it appealed to me and the biggish garden appealed to Alison, who loves gardening.”

Now settled in Alyth, Ron and Alison quickly became involved in the community. “We helped establish the Walking Group, the Running Group and the Photographic Club. I went along to the watercolour classes being run by Graham Wands at his gallery on Commercial Street, just for interest as a hobby,” says Ron. “In about 2013, it was decided to stage an open evening in the gallery, and as another of my hobbies is photography I decided to offer a few pictures for the display.

“About 100 people came to the event, which encouraged us to set up the Alyth Arts & Crafts Guild to promote Alyth and the artists and makers in the town. We couldn’t afford premises, so we used Graham’s gallery but the 2015 floods wiped that out. We were determined to keep going, however, so the idea of having several venues around the town took hold, as well as encompassing a wider range of skills and talent in addition to traditional painting and drawing, and also celebrate the natural and historical heritage of Alyth.

“Using the contacts and talents of people like Graham, Jonathan Mitchell and Lesley Garside plus some funding from Perth & Kinross Council, we managed to stage the first Alyth Creates in 2017 across 16 venues in the town. Much to our surprise, it was a huge success. It’s continued to grow with more and more local groups and organisations joining in, and this year we had 21 venues.

“We’re all very proud of the event and we enjoy it, but it’s a bigger and bigger challenge for a small group of volunteers to be doing in their spare time: five months of planning, finding funding, arranging venues, producing the 200 brochures, marketing the event, keeping the content fresh and different each year. We’re currently considering whether it’s feasible in its current form - with a final decision due at a meeting in September.”

Ron is now semi-retired though still does the occasional piece of work, most notably the wonderful dry-stone feature at the entrance to Alyth, incorporating the Pictish-style carving of a bull to recall the town’s long history as a centre for cattle droving. “Our Pictish heritage is relatively unknown, but a very important part of the fabric of our history. I was so proud to be asked to contribute to that,” says Ron.

Ron is currently working on an online gallery “EcoAlyth”, based on images taken around the town, and is planning to retrace the old droving route from Skye to Alyth.
