Translations are an important part of the genre as a whole, and they grow numerically and proportionally over the period. The dissertation consists of two parts. Part 1 presents and analyses a bibliographical database of 10,000 titles of translated and original Dutch fiction for girls. The focus of the analysis is on the development of the genre, the source languages, the Flemish-Dutch relationship, the proportion of fiction series and the role of publishers. Whereas the publication of original Dutch fiction for girls is predominantly a Netherlands affair, Flemish publishers produce a disproportionately large number of translations. -

Rights catalogue Spring 2020 Picture books Picture books Det som verkar farligt Things That Seem Scary Annica Hedin & Hanna Klinthage Sometimes it’s actually good to be scared. Like if you’re swimming and a crocodile comes along. But what if you meet a hairy spider or you have to go up to the dark attic all by yourself? Are those legitimate reasons to be frightened? Lots of things can seem scary – clowns, creepy crawlies and sleepovers (even if it’s at your best friend’s house). Annica Hedin and Hanna Klinthage cleverly add wit to their words and illustrations to reveal a number of common (and less common) fears. This book is a standalone sequel to the critically acclaimed book They’re Called Adults. 245x265, 32 pp, 3–6 yrs Dom som kallas vuxna They’re Called Adults Annica Hedin & Hanna Klinthage 245×265, 32 pp, 3–6 yrs Jag vill ha en lyftkran I Want a Crane Ebba Forslind All children want a crane to lift things, right? Societal Entrepreneurship As a Lever to Sustainable Local and Regional Development – the Case of the ALV Theme Park1
Societal Entrepreneurship as a Lever to Sustainable Local and Regional Development – the Case of the ALV Theme park1 Bengt Johannisson, Linnaeus University/Jönköping University ([email protected]) Elisabeth Sundin, Linköping University ([email protected]) 1. The challenge Among practitioners as well as researchers there is an increasing awareness of the need for sustainable development. This concern for endurance encompasses firms and other organizations as well as localities, from communities and regions to nations and the globe as a whole. In the public discourse sustainability then covers, besides economic, also social and ecological dimension. Now when creativity and diversity have been recognizes as major triggers of change and development, see for example Florida 2002, culture, both as a way of life based on a concern for the cultural heritage and as an aesthetic challenge, as well must be considered as a dimension of sustainability. These four contributors to sustainability are expected to jointly create organizations and localities that are able to create a better world. Here we want to add a fifth concern that in a way incorporates and anticipates the very reason for creating a sustainable world. How to make the importance and wellbeing of the children the focus of soci(et)al improvement? There are two major strategies to cope with an increasing call for sustainable development. One is to perceive and organize the challenge as a problem that calls for a (re)active solution. This usually is about creating a corrective to the negative consequences of a too strong economic focus in ongoing business activity. The practice of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) may be considered as such an adjustment. -
International Swedish Classics and Contemporary Voices
SWEDISH BOOKS FOR YOUNG International Swedish Classics and READERS Contemporary Voices Ut i natten. Marcus Gunnar Pettersson Cropped illustration From The Magical Dust (see page 6) Welcome! This publication is for those of you who are interested in publishing Swedish children’s and YA literature, but aren’t quite sure where to get started. It’s also for you if you have already published something Swedish, but would like to do more. And if you’re simply curious? Well, it’s for you too. Within these pages are a selection of titles taken from the treasure chest of Swedish children’s and YA literature. The authors presented here have already been translated into a number of languages and have reached readers in different parts of the world. Each writer is presented via a brief introduction and examples of their books that have been published in translation. For each book, details of the original publisher and representation are included. At the very back you’ll find the contact details for these Swedish children’s and YA publishers and agents, as well as information about the grants that you can apply to us for. Good hunting! Susanne Bergström Larsson, Head of Swedish Literature Exchange, Swedish Arts Council Note: The selection is based on nominations from Swedish agents and publishers who sell international rights relating to Swedish children’s and YA literature. They were invited to nominate a number of authors and books that have already been disseminated internationally. In order to ensure an even spread of publishers and agents, genres and age categories, a team at the Swedish Arts Council then made the final selection from the nominations.
